DTO - The Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 73 on March 3, 2022 to specify the implementation of Conclusion No. 254 of the Provincial Party Committee, term XI, on socio -economic development of Sa Dec City to 2025, with a vision to 2030. According to Plan No. 73 of the Provincial People's Committee, in addition to the main targets and tasks related to planning, investment in urban development, accompanying businesses, digital transformation..., the provincial departments, branches and Sa Dec City People's Committee focus on developing tourism to become a spearhead economic sector of the city.
Tourists from inside and outside the province visit, experience and take photos at a flower and ornamental garden located in An Hoa ward, Sa Dec city.
From 2022 to present, with the support of the province, Sa Dec city continues to develop its tourism strengths based on flower and ornamental agriculture . In the city, there are many major tourist attractions such as: Rose Field, Sa Nhien Garden, Sa Dec Ornamental Flower Tourist Area, Tu Ton Rose Garden, Sa Dec Flower River Project with characteristics of the Mekong Delta river region... serving tourists to visit and experience when coming to Sa Dec city. In particular, the Frog Flower House homestay facility, Happy Land Hung Thy garden playground, Ngoc Lan ornamental garden are recognized as OCOP products. Currently, the city has 22 community tourism spots, including 4 stable homestay models: Frog Flower House, Phong Le Vent, Neverland De Papillions, Loi Xua, Sa Nhien.
In general, tourism associated with ornamental flower production is increasingly developing, especially Sa Dec City established a model of a Commercial Production Cooperative to invest in developing tourism services in Sa Dec Flower Village. Particularly on the occasion of the first Sa Dec Flower - Ornamental Festival in 2023 taking place from December 30, 2023 to January 5, 2024 in Sa Dec City, the province launched 4 new tours in the city to serve tourists including: "Following the Lover's Footprint", "Sa Dec - Love of Land - Love of Flowers", "Sa Dec Flower Kingdom - Green Heritage Journey" and "Sa Dec - Buddhist Cultural Space in the Heart of the Ancient City". The tours are associated with agricultural experiences, handicraft villages and typical cultural heritages in some districts and cities in the province. Thereby, bringing tourists interesting experiences and bearing the mark of time.
In addition, inland waterway tourism activities are being invested in by businesses, establishments, and households in Sa Dec City, building ships and asking for permission to open passenger wharves to exploit the potential advantages of the Mekong River in developing new types of tourism in Dong Thap. At the same time, maintaining the operation of tourist wharves on the Sa Dec - Lap Vo river route to exploit the advantages of tourism on the Tien River and the Sa Dec - Lap Vo canal, Muong Khai - Doc Phu Hien canal. Planning orientation of Sa Dec 1 passenger port with the capacity to receive 100-passenger ships and planning a new passenger port on the Tien River, located on Dong Giang islet, with the capacity to receive 250-passenger ships. Dong Giang islet has been interested in proposing planning ideas by Mekong Smart City Joint Stock Company of Novaland Group.
The province proposed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to rank Vinh Phuoc Communal House as a National Historical and Cultural Relic; complete the restoration and embellishment of the relics of Uncle Ho's Farm Village, Tan Quy Tay Communal House, Nguyen Thanh Giang Ancient House, Ong Quach Pagoda (Kien An Cung). In addition, Sa Dec City focuses on developing the night-time economy, combined with promoting diverse culinary activities from flour products through culinary sessions in the flour village, traditional dishes, Spring Flower Festival, Peace Festival and Independence Festival, Tourism Week... contributing to building the local image in the direction of "Festival City". At the same time, implementing policies related to tourism development has supported 10 tourist destinations, 3 homestay models, 1 farmstay with a total cost of more than 5.7 billion VND. In 2024, Sa Dec City is expected to attract 800,000 visitors to visit and experience the locality.
Continuing to implement Conclusion No. 254 of the Provincial Party Committee, term XI, on socio-economic development of Sa Dec City to 2025, with a vision to 2030, especially Sa Dec City focuses on developing tourism to become the city's spearhead economic sector. In the coming time, Sa Dec City will strengthen propaganda and promotion to promote strong tourism development from breadth to depth; enhance the competitiveness of Sa Dec's unique tourism products. Along with that, develop a trade and service model in the direction of night-time economy; implement the Sa Dec Flower Cultural Tourism Village Project associated with the OCOP Program; mobilize resources to build Sa Dec Flower Park as the most beautiful flower park in the Mekong Delta region to attract tourists.
