This is the biggest flood in the province in decades, 1.5m higher than the historical level in 1993, exceeding the 10-year frequency. The natural disaster has caused extremely severe and widespread damage, seriously affecting people's lives, production and essential infrastructure of the province.

Initial preliminary damage is nearly 5,500 billion VND, not including damage to people.
Dak Lak province has been mobilizing all resources to urgently provide relief and overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Central ministries, branches, neighboring provinces and cities, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province are also actively supporting the province. In addition, the Politburo assigned Hai Phong city to directly support Dak Lak province with food, clothing, medicine and medical staff.
However, with such great damage, Dak Lak province needs more resources to promptly support people to soon stabilize their lives, restore production and business activities and rebuild local infrastructure.
With the traditional close relationship and good cooperation between the two Party Committees, governments, Vietnam Fatherland Front and people of Dak Lak - Ho Chi Minh City, the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee respectfully requests the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City to pay attention to providing resources to support the province.

The Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee expressed its gratitude and deep respect for the attention, sharing and valuable support of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the people of Ho Chi Minh City.
