On November 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the city is currently out of vaccines: diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus (DPT), polio (IPV), hepatitis B (HGB), 5-in-1 vaccine to prevent diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B, pneumonia and purulent meningitis (DPT-HGB-Hib).
Other vaccines such as measles, oral polio (bOPV), tuberculosis (BCG), measles and rubella (MR), tetanus, and Japanese encephalitis are very limited, only enough for the next one or a few days.
On the same afternoon, a representative of the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology said that domestically produced vaccines under the expanded immunization program are expected to be available again at the end of November 2023 at the earliest, while imported vaccines will have to wait until the end of December 2023.
