Responsibility to preserve and promote cultural traditions

Many traditional cultural values of Vietnam have been widely promoted in the world through the constant efforts of young people in international cultural exchange activities, diverse and creative cultural and artistic programs.

In Resolution No. 25-NQ/TW dated July 25, 2008 on strengthening the Party's leadership over youth work in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization, the Central Committee determined that youth is a great social force, playing an important role in deciding the future and destiny of the nation. One of the requirements is that youth must regularly practice ethics, lifestyle, civilized living, and preserve national cultural traditions...

In order to continue to arouse the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country; promote cultural values, the strength of the Vietnamese people in the cause of national construction and defense, international integration in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union recently held a conference to collect comments on the draft project "Youth participating in preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Vietnamese nation in the period of 2024-2029". The goal is to encourage union members and young people to participate in innovation, creativity, socio- economic development activities, combining the application of information technology, digital transformation with the preservation and promotion of local cultural traditions. Of which, about 200 community houses will be built in villages and hamlets, especially in ethnic minority areas; 50 models of promoting the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups associated with the new rural construction program; 50 typical tourist destinations in mountainous, remote and isolated areas - places that preserve many unique cultural values.

In localities, to promote the pioneering and creative role of youth in specific and practical tasks and actions to preserve and spread the traditional cultural identity of the nation, Party committees and organizations at all levels and local authorities have had many solutions to create new changes in youth work, focusing on nurturing and fostering the awareness and responsibility of youth.

In Ca Mau province, the solution of focusing on strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels in improving the quality and effectiveness of the Youth Union and youth movements in the new situation has brought about practical results. Implementing the resolution of the Provincial Party Committee, Party committees at all levels have paid attention to developing a contingent of Ca Mau youth in the new period who have revolutionary ideals, ethics, and a healthy cultural lifestyle; always respect the precious traditions of the nation, are responsible for their homeland and country; have ambitions and aspirations to excel in studying, working, creating, starting a business, establishing a career, mastering science and technology; have the courage, knowledge and capacity to integrate and develop.

Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union Tran Dang Khoa said that the youth union at all levels in the province has concretized the resolution with practical activities, meaningful programs and many exciting emulation movements. Young party members, as "youth leaders", have pioneered in preserving and promoting the local cultural and historical traditions in many different ways. The initiatives of the youth union have been recognized in life, such as the application of digital transformation: the chat box model "Shine forever people's names", "Tron niem tin yeu" , digital projects at the Temple of 10 heroic martyrs of the Hon Khoai uprising, Mui Ca Mau National Tourist Area... contributing to spreading traditional cultural and historical values, arousing ideals and actions to realize ambitions in the young generation. The youth union organizations have established teams to propagate local history and culture. Some young party members such as teacher Vo Tuyet Ngan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ca Mau Community College, are known as the authors of many applications and software that spread patriotism, love of history, and national cultural traditions.

In recent years, Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union has always focused on promoting the initiative and creativity of party members who are youth union members in disseminating history, affirming the pioneering role in preserving and promoting cultural identity. According to Deputy Secretary of Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union Du Pham Huu Khuyen, youth organizations at all levels have proactively implemented exciting activities and movements, attracting the participation of a large number of young people to preserve and promote the value of historical, cultural and revolutionary relics. According to the assessment of Hon Dat District Youth Union Secretary Do Van Dan, the results of digital transformation at the Ba Hon national historical-scenic relic in Tho Son commune, Hon Dat district have had effective contributions from Kien Giang youth. This is a youth project, demonstrating the affection and responsibility of the young generation for the historical and revolutionary traditions of the locality and the country.
