Accordingly, the Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates the two parties' shared commitment to jointly implement field research activities, coordinate sociological surveys, and design communication campaigns for sustainable, equitable, and youth-inclusive development.
The agreement also aims to enhance the capacity of students, lecturers and project staff through practical learning activities, linking theory with development practice.
In particular, the cooperation contents will prioritize promoting meaningful participation of young people in community-based programs and projects, with a focus on remote areas, areas where Plan International Vietnam is implementing many activities to support girls, young women and ethnic minority groups.
Head of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work (University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Dr. Dang Kim Khanh Ly said: We want to bring students multi-dimensional learning opportunities - not only theoretical knowledge in the classroom but also through practical experiences in the community, through internship programs, participating in projects or working with organizations such as Plan International Vietnam.
"Today's signing is a positive first step, opening up a space for cooperation so that both sides can share knowledge, support each other and together create conditions for students to develop their capacity, confidence and professional skills in a real-life environment."
At the signing ceremony, Plan International Vietnam Country Director, Ms. Le Quynh Lan shared: Plan International Vietnam's program always values listening to and accompanying young people - especially girls - so that they can express their opinions and participate in decisions that affect their own lives.
This is also the first time Plan International Vietnam has signed a strategic and long-term framework Memorandum of Understanding with an academic unit of a university. "We believe that this cooperation will create practical and widespread initiatives and intervention models for a more equal and inclusive society for children and adolescents in Vietnam," Ms. Le Quynh Lan emphasized.
According to the content of the Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides will coordinate to implement research, survey and communication activities with the active participation of young people; support capacity building for students and lecturers; and develop innovative and creative models to promote children's rights, gender equality and community development.
The cooperation is expected to bring about positive innovations in development approaches, while also contributing to the training of a young generation of human resources with critical thinking, practical skills and strong social commitment.
