The model "Ban Tho Forest Garden" and Ban Tho Cooperative were established by Ms. Nguyen Le Ngoc Linh in 2019, aiming to create a sustainable and successful forest garden model. There, livelihoods are guaranteed without cutting down any forest trees; without destroying human health and the ecosystem with herbicides, stimulants, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, but crop yields are still high. After that, it will be replicated and linked with surrounding farmers to plant forest gardens and expand the area to bare hills, monoculture acacia and rubber so that farmers can live a full and healthy life on their own land.
Up to now, with the application of the energy-compatible forest garden model, the Tho Cooperative has planted and covered the land with perennial native forest trees, fruit trees; medicinal plants, food crops...
With the initial success of the model, Ms. Ngoc Linh has contributed to increasing the value and level of local products, developing a sustainable forest ecosystem. In particular, she is an example for many women who want to start a business from local products, enrich their homeland, promote the potential and strengths of regions to produce goods according to the value chain in the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030.
