The traditional culture of the Miao people in Guizhou Province, China, reflects a beautiful life in harmony with nature, with unique characteristics different from other ethnic groups.
The traditional culture of the Miao ethnic group (also known as the Mong ethnic group) is very diverse and rich, immersing everyone in it.
That is the sharing of Mr. Nguyen Thien Khiem, a TikToker, MC of Vietnam Television when visiting and experiencing the culture of the Miao ethnic group in Guizhou province, China.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Khiem is one of 30 international youth representatives from 17 countries around the world invited by the Guizhou Field Trip Program within the framework of the International Youth Dialogue of Tsinghua University (China) to visit many locations in Guizhou to deeply experience the development opportunities and unique culture of the province from August 22-26.
Together with youth representatives from countries around the world, Mr. Nguyen Thien Khiem visited the Xiuli Tao Intangible Cultural Heritage Market in Kaili City, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province; together they deeply experienced the embroidery, music and dance skills of the Miao people, and felt the historical and emotional folk stories of the Miao people here.
“There are also Miao people in Vietnam, but this is the first time I have really delved into and explored the culture of the Miao people in China, feeling the beautiful and harmonious life of the Miao people with people of other ethnic groups. Wearing traditional Miao costumes and walking on the stage with them, I was very excited. This is truly the most wonderful experience,” Nguyen Thien Khiem shared.
Coming to watch the "V-league village" football tournament, which took place in a jubilant and vibrant atmosphere, Mr. Nguyen Thien Khiem also praised it endlessly.
All the villagers came together to watch and cheer for the teams. The players tried their best to compete, showing off all their skills, giving the villagers an eye-catching match.
“I will introduce my fans to Guizhou to experience the bustling atmosphere here firsthand, enjoy the scenery and immerse themselves in the local culture,” said Nguyen Thien Khiem.
The grandeur of the bridge over the Ba Lang River is truly astonishing. Standing on the 370m high Ba Lang Bridge in An Thuan City, Nguyen Thien Khiem and others were excited to step inside the bridge, feeling the vibrations created by cars and trucks as well as the wind blowing in all directions.

Sharing his thoughts after his trip to Guizhou, Mr. Nguyen Thien Khiem expressed his observations on the similarities between Guizhou culture and Vietnamese culture, as well as his expectations for cooperation between the two sides. He said: “The two sides can cooperate to build a platform for sharing, sharing similar content as well as differences; highlighting the unique cultural features of each country.”
