STRENGTHENING PROPAGANDA AND MOBILIZATION

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Huynh Van Hai said that in order to do a good job of mobilizing support for the "For the Poor" Fund, recently, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has guided the Fatherland Front Committee and the "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Board at all levels to implement the Coordination Program between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee on sustainable poverty reduction, building new rural areas, and civilized urban areas; regulations of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee on mobilizing, managing and using the "For the Poor" Fund.

Along with that, every year, guide the improvement of the "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee at all levels; advise the Party Committee to issue directive documents, coordinate with the government and member organizations to determine the methods, content and objects of mobilization; organize a launching ceremony to support or issue documents, send letters calling for support for the "For the Poor" Fund to organizations and individuals.

During the implementation process, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Mobilization Committee of the “For the Poor” Fund at all levels have focused on propaganda, promoting responsibility, mobilizing contributions from agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists to support poor households with practical and appropriate actions such as: Livelihood support, house construction and repair, and social security activities. After each campaign, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels announced the list and amount of donations from units and individuals on the mass media. Thereby, creating a wide spread in society about supporting the “For the Poor” Fund.

In recent times, the province's "For the Poor" Fund has received active support from agencies, units, businesses, corporations, and people from all walks of life inside and outside the province. Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2025, organizations and individuals inside and outside Tien Giang province have actively responded and supported the "For the Poor" Fund and the 3-level Social Security Program with over 137 billion VND (of which the "For the Poor" Fund was 10 billion VND, the Social Security Program was over 127.2 billion VND).

From this fund, 145 new solidarity houses were built and 92 houses were repaired with a total value of over 10.5 billion VND; 4,980 Tet gifts were given to poor and disadvantaged households during the Lunar New Year, with a total value of 2.8 billion VND; 29 disadvantaged students were helped to excel in their studies, with a total value of 14.5 million VND; 20 poor households were supported with capital to develop production, with a total value of 220 million VND...

Responding to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister , the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has proactively developed a plan to organize and implement the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses". The total number of poor and near-poor households living in temporary and dilapidated houses in Tien Giang province that need to be eliminated is 472 (337 newly built, 135 repaired), to date 100% of which have been started and put into use. In addition, through the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee, units supported the construction of 105 solidarity houses, with a total cost of 5.2 billion VND.

To ensure the use of the “For the Poor” Fund for the right purpose and effectively, the Fatherland Front Committee and the “For the Poor” Fund Mobilization Committee at all levels in the province have coordinated with the People’s Committees at the same level and functional departments to direct the implementation of statistics and review of poor households. Households receiving support from this fund are evaluated from the grassroots level, poor households are confirmed by the government, the Fatherland Front Committee and functional departments to monitor as a basis for consideration and support.

In the solid house of great solidarity, Ms. Phan Thi Ha, Quon Long commune, Cho Gao district said: My family used to be a poor household, the house had only more than 1 hectare of land; my husband and I mainly worked for hire to raise our children. With difficult circumstances, worrying about every meal every day, having a solid house like this is the family's dream. I would like to sincerely thank the support of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the agencies, units, and neighbors who sponsored and helped my family have this dream house. My family and I will unite and strive to escape poverty and stabilize our lives.

The house was temporarily built on her younger brother’s land and has been degraded for many years. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dinh, Tan Phu Commune, Tan Phu Dong District, has always dreamed of owning her own house. However, due to her single-family home, unstable job, and daily living expenses, the dream of a new house is too far away.

Implementing the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Tien Giang province in 2025", Ms. Dinh was mobilized by the Provincial Women's Union to mobilize the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Tien Giang Branch ( Vietcombank Tien Giang) to support 50 million VND to build a "Shelter of Love". Ms. Dinh excitedly said, "I am very happy to receive financial support, brothers and neighbors helping with labor to build the house. With a new house, I feel secure to work to develop the economy."

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Suong is the only remaining near-poor household in Thanh Binh commune, Cho Gao district. It is known that Ms. Suong's husband suffered a stroke and passed away, the house has no land for production, and the two children are still young, so Ms. Suong's family life is extremely difficult. Seeing her difficulties, Thanh Binh commune supported her with capital to buy 2 cows to raise and supported 10 million VND so that Ms. Suong has capital to make wine to sell. In particular, from mobilized resources, Thanh Binh commune supported 50 million VND so that Ms. Suong has a solid house, and can confidently develop her family's economy.

It can be affirmed that the contribution and support of the “For the Poor” Fund not only demonstrates the social responsibility of agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists, but also demonstrates the solidarity of all classes of people joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind. Thereby, it has contributed to ensuring social security and reducing the poverty rate in the area year by year.

Based on the achieved results, in the coming time, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committees at all levels will continue to propagate and mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees, agencies, units, enterprises, and people from all walks of life inside and outside the province to actively support the "For the Poor" Fund and social security programs. Thereby, it aims to encourage, help, support and share with the poor in all aspects, from material to spiritual; contributing to the province's goal of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction as well as contributing to the successful implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025 in the area.
