The international three-cushion carom billiards event is being held for the first time but promises to bring many interesting and exciting competitions, taking place from May 25 to 31 at Ho Xuan Huong Sports Stadium (HCMC).
The tournament is organized by Saigontourist Cable Television Company Limited (SCTV) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF) with a total prize fund of nearly 1 billion VND and the champion will receive a prize worth up to 500 million VND.

This is the first time a tournament held in Vietnam allows all domestic players, regardless of professional or amateur level, to register to compete with the world's top players. With the message "From unknown to legendary", SCTV Cup hopes to become a prestigious, professional and inspiring annual competition for those who love this sport.
250 domestic and international players will participate in the knockout round, selecting the 2 best players to move on to the official round, where there will be the presence of 6 guest players from the Top 15 in the world according to the rankings of the International Carom Billiard Federation (UMB).

Tran Quyet Chien is currently ranked 3rd in the world in 3-cushion carom.
In the official round, 8 players - including Tran Quyet Chien (3rd place UMB), Tran Thanh Luc (5th place), Tayfun Tasdemir (Türkiye, 7th place), Heo Jung-han (Korea, 8th place), Kim Jun-tae (Korea, 10th place) and Bao Phuong Vinh (15th place) - will be drawn into two groups, competing in a round-robin to calculate points in each group. The top two players in each group will advance to the semi-finals, where they will compete in a knockout match to compete for the championship.
