On the morning of July 26, at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Lien Hoa Commune, Lap Thach District, the Provincial Police coordinated with the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Lien Hoa Commune to organize a memorial service, burial ceremony, and award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to martyr Nguyen Van Hien, who heroically sacrificed his life while on duty.

Martyr Nguyen Van Hien was born in 1925 in a family with a rich revolutionary tradition in Lien Hoa commune, Lap Thach district. In August 1945, he joined the self-defense force in the commune. In 1947, he was a guerrilla who escaped from Lap Thach district, then returned to become the village guerrilla leader of Lien Hoa commune.
On February 21, 1949, he was honored to be admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party (today's Communist Party). From June 1953, he left to join the Vinh Phuc Police Department as a guard squad leader. In January 1954, he transferred to work as an armed police officer and as a guard squad leader. In January 1957, he was an officer of the Vinh Phuc Police Department. From September 1959, he was an officer of the Lap Thach District Police.

On October 24, 1967, while on duty in Xuan Hoa commune, he discovered that American planes were bombing. Despite the danger, he bravely rescued two children and took them to a shelter. Later, he was hit by an enemy bomb and died.
During more than 20 years of participating in revolutionary activities, comrade Nguyen Van Hien was awarded the 2nd class Resistance Medal, the 2nd and 3rd class Victory Medal by the Party, State and Government ; and was awarded Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee and the Public Security Department. For many years, he was an excellent soldier of the Public Security sector.

To recognize his merits, contributions and brave sacrifices, on June 14, 2024, the Prime Minister signed and issued Decision No. 514 on granting the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to martyr Nguyen Van Hien.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Van Cong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, affirmed: The Party, the State and the Police Department always remember the great contributions of martyr Nguyen Van Hien in particular and heroic martyrs in general.
He hoped that each individual, agency, organization, especially officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police would actively participate in the work of caring for and helping people with revolutionary contributions, considering it a moral, responsibility and also an honor to show infinite gratitude for the great contributions of previous generations to the cause of protecting and maintaining political security and social order and safety.
