Awarding the Friendship Medal to the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam

During Ambassador Denny Abdi's tenure in Vietnam, Vietnam - Indonesia relations continued to be firmly consolidated with an important milestone in which the two countries officially upgraded their relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In recognition of the Ambassador's contributions, the Vietnamese State awarded him the Friendship Medal.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , on October 31 in Hanoi, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong, on behalf of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, presented the Friendship Medal to Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong said that the awarding of the Friendship Medal by the President is a recognition and honor for the role, dedication and outstanding contributions of Ambassador Denny Abdi in fostering the traditional friendship between the two countries. The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the Ambassador's initiatives and efforts in promoting comprehensive cooperation in the fields of politics , economics, trade, investment, people-to-people exchange and bilateral cooperation within the ASEAN framework, contributing to the development of Vietnam - Indonesia relations in an increasingly practical and effective manner.

In particular, during Ambassador Denny Abdi's nearly 5-year tenure in Vietnam, the relationship between the two countries continued to be firmly consolidated with an important milestone when the two countries officially upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2025 during the official visit to Indonesia by General Secretary To Lam. The Ambassador's active coordination with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities in organizing many cooperative exchange activities, promoting dialogue mechanisms, high-level meetings, as well as supporting businesses of the two countries in the post-pandemic economic recovery period, has left a profound and practical mark.

Ambassador Denny Abdi expressed his honor and emotion when receiving the noble award from the State of Vietnam, and sent his sincere thanks to the leaders of the Party, State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the people of Vietnam for always giving him support and close cooperation during his term. The Ambassador affirmed that, although his term in Vietnam has ended, he will continue to contribute to strengthening and fostering the friendly and cooperative relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam, for the common interests of the people of the two countries as well as the development of the ASEAN Community.
