Global research shows that children under 13 who use smartphones are at high risk of psychological problems. Girls were more significantly affected, including anxiety, depression and feelings of isolation.
Dr. Tara Thiagarajan, founder and chief scientific officer of Sapien Labs, recommends delaying children's access to smart devices. This is because children are easily influenced by social networks, virtual bullying and lack of sleep.
Renowned sociologist Jonathan Haidt suggests limiting the age limit for social media use to 16 years and older. He points out that social media negatively affects adolescent emotional development.
