According to Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong, in the first 5 months of 2025, 67.3 trillion VND was disbursed to lend to over 1 million poor households and other policy beneficiaries. Thereby, the whole country has over 6.8 million customers with outstanding loans. At the same time, mobilization from organizations and individuals in the market and receiving deposits through savings and loan groups reached 51.8 trillion VND. This contributed to raising the total capital source for implementing policy credit nationwide to over 410 trillion VND, an increase of 9.2% compared to 2024. The total outstanding debt of policy credit programs reached 389.4 trillion VND, an increase of 5.9% compared to 2024. Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong requested that from now until the end of 2025, localities continue to implement the Strategy for Development of the Social Policy Bank until 2030 according to the Prime Minister's decision. The organization of the Social Policy Bank must be arranged in accordance with the plan for arrangement and organization of administrative units and local governments at 2 levels according to the direction of the Central Government.
Ministries, sectors and localities proactively implement solutions to mobilize capital sources to participate in the policy credit program. In Dong Nai, over the past 5 months, the provincial branch of the Bank for Social Policies has lent over 1.1 trillion VND to over 20.8 thousand poor households and policy beneficiaries. Thereby, the total outstanding balance of policy credit capital that the provincial branch of the Bank for Social Policies is managing has reached over 6.2 trillion VND with 127.4 thousand customers still having outstanding loans.
