On June 1, Ninh Binh province simultaneously organized a Vitamin A supplement for children in 143 communes, wards and towns in the province in the first phase of 2023. Accordingly, about 50,000 children between the ages of 6 and 35 months were supplemented with Vitamin A in this phase, at nearly 150 drinking points throughout the province.
In order for the Vitamin A drinking campaign to take place smoothly in hot weather, the Health sector has directed the Commune, Ward and Town Health Stations to carefully prepare for the Vitamin A supplement campaign, from counting subjects, arranging reasonable drinking points; at the same time, promoting propaganda in many forms, helping people promptly grasp the information about the campaign, take their children to drink Vitamin A and weigh and monitor their development.
The Health sector also organized four delegations to monitor the implementation of the Vitamin A supplementation campaign and the weighing and measuring activities for children under 5 years old at some drinking points in the province.

To prevent Vitamin A deficiency in children under 5 years old, every year, the Ministry of Health organizes two Vitamin A drinking sessions on June 1-2 and December 1-2 for children under 6 months old who are not breastfed and children under 5 years old at risk of Vitamin A deficiency.
Vitamin A supplementation for children of this age aims to help children improve their health, develop cells and tissues in the body, especially hair, nails and skin, contributing to preventing stunted growth and underweight children, gradually improving the stature and physical strength of the young generation.
The Vitamin A drinking campaign will be carried out from June 1-3, 2023, at commune, ward and town health stations. The Ninh Binh health sector strives to achieve the goal of 100% of children aged 6-36 months receiving Vitamin A and measuring children under 5 years old to monitor their comprehensive development.
