Workers return to work after Tet holiday

Immediately after the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, officers, engineers, and workers on key projects returned to busy construction with the determination to construct quality and ensure progress as required. At Provincial Road 823D project in Duc Hoa district, Long An province, on the 6th day of the Lunar New Year, dozens of officers, engineers, and workers returned to the project to deploy construction teams.

Deputy Project Manager of DT823D construction project - Nguyen Van Su said: "With the spirit of "only working, no retreating, overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, eating quickly, sleeping urgently, working in 3 shifts, 4 shifts", before the Lunar New Year holiday, the unit thoroughly conveyed the general spirit to the contractors, after Tet must start construction immediately.

Therefore, on the first working day of the new year, all three contractors including Hoan Hao Company Limited, Hai Duong Dike and Rural Development Construction Joint Stock Company, Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company Limited focused on human resources, mobilized vehicles, machinery, and equipment to simultaneously deploy construction projects along the entire route.

Hoan Hao Company mobilized 2 bulldozers, 1 roller, 6 steel-wheeled rollers, 2 water trucks, 3 excavators and nearly 20 officers and workers to deploy 4 construction teams. Hai Duong Dike and Rural Development Construction Joint Stock Company mobilized 2 excavators, 10 rollers, 1 water truck, 1 bulldozer and 15 officers and workers to focus on spreading red gravel. Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company mobilized 3 excavators, 10 steel rollers, 1 water truck, 3 bulldozers, 1 roller, 1 spreader and workers to deploy 3 construction teams: rolling red gravel, rolling sand and sand filling. "With the highest determination from the beginning of the year, the construction units of the project strive to ensure the progress as required" - Mr. Nguyen Van Su added.

At the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project through the province, on the first working day, all 3 construction packages of the project resumed construction. Director of the XL1 Project Management Board - Ha Van Hung informed: "Currently, all 3 contractors including Dai A Chau Production Construction Trading Co., Ltd., Delta Construction Trading Joint Stock Company and Tan Hoang Long Investment Construction Trading Joint Stock Company have mobilized human resources to deploy 4 construction teams with 3 road construction teams and 1 bridge construction team with nearly 40 workers. Basically, the XL1 package still ensures the progress requirements with the construction volume reaching about 15%".

Meanwhile, in package XL3 - Construction of the end-of-route intersection in the Km90+472 - Km91+568 section, the joint venture of Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company Limited - Tam Son Investment Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Corporation - JSC will construct. All construction phases will be deployed simultaneously with a progress of 30%.

“Currently, the construction value of the XL3 package is ahead of schedule, but we are not complacent, we immediately started construction from the first days and months of the new year. The unit is deploying 4 construction teams outside the construction site, including 1 roadbed construction team, 1 beam casting team, 1 pier construction team and 1 cap beam construction team” - Commander of the Joint Venture of Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company Limited - Tam Son Investment Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Corporation - JSC - Vu Thong Truong affirmed.

Determined to ensure construction progress

According to information from the Department of Transport, up to now, on traffic works, especially key works such as Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 section passing through the province, DT830E, 823D, contractors have resumed construction with progress guaranteed as required.

For the DT823D project, the length is 14.2km, the starting point is the border between the province and Ho Chi Minh City, the end point is at the Hau Nghia roundabout intersection - National Highway N2 with Ho Chi Minh Road, Duc Hoa district. The route has a scale of 4 lanes 14m wide, 2 parallel lanes 7m wide. The total investment of the project is more than 1,105 billion VND. The project started construction at the end of December 2021, the construction time was extended to the end of September 2024.

After 2 years of construction, the contractors dug and filled the roadbed with sand for 12.65/14.27km, spread red gravel for 7.66/14.27km, mixed crushed stone for 3.12/14.27km, mixed crushed stone for 2.2/14.27km, mixed asphalt for 2.2/14.27km, along with curbing and drainage works with a total volume of 35.75%. Although the units are making efforts to implement the construction tasks, the project still faces difficulties in site clearance. This is also a big challenge to complete the project by the end of September this year.

“Currently, all three contractors of the project are facing difficulties due to site clearance or intermittent site handover. However, all units are fully aware of the spirit of deploying construction teams as soon as the site is available to ensure the project progress as required.

Besides, we also hope that the local government will speed up the compensation and site clearance work to create conditions for contractors to speed up construction progress and strive to complete the project as committed to the investor" - Mr. Nguyen Van Su said.

The shape of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3 section passing through the province after more than half a year of construction

As for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project, although this is a national key project and has been implemented urgently, the bidding packages in the province have been assessed by the Ministry of Transport as being ahead of schedule. Long An Province is also the only locality out of the four localities to reach this milestone. The entire project has a total length of about 76.34km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City and three provinces: Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An, and is divided into eight independently operated component projects.

Of which, the section passing through the province has a length of 6.84km, including component project 7 - construction of Ring Road 3 and component project 8 - compensation, support, and resettlement of Ring Road 3 through Long An province. The total investment of component project 7 is 3,040 billion VND and component project 8 is 1,168 billion VND. As planned, the expressway section will be completed and opened to traffic in 2025 and the entire project will be completed in 2026. Up to now, Ben Luc District People's Committee has paid compensation to 410/414 households, reaching 99% with a total amount of 930.14/942.5 billion VND, reaching 98.6%.

After more than half a year of implementation, all 3 construction packages have been completed according to the plan and the progress milestones required by the Government. In package XL1, the progress reached 15%, package XL2, the progress reached 21%, especially package XL3, the progress reached 30%. However, currently, the biggest difficulty for the project is when the packages of the North-South Expressway Project in the Mekong Delta region are simultaneously implemented, leading to a shortage of sand materials for the roadbed of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project, unstable supply, which risks slowing down the construction progress and completion of the project.

According to Mr. Ha Van Hung, the XL1 package needs the largest supply of sand for filling the foundation, so the unit has also proactively contacted units that provide sand for filling. The unit has also received commitments from some units to provide a guaranteed sand source for construction. When there is a stable sand source, the unit will deploy additional construction teams, overtime, and extra shifts to ensure the project's construction progress.

Workers return to work after Tet holiday

After the Lunar New Year holiday, the construction sites are bustling again. The continuous sound of engines, the continuous transport of sand and construction materials to the construction sites add to the bustling atmosphere, creating spring at key projects. These are also happy signals that concretize the determination of contractors and investors with the desire to soon complete the projects, promoting efficiency in the socio-economic development of the province./.
