(HBĐT) - On May 24, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Official Dispatch No. 1281 implementing measures to prevent drowning accidents for children at reservoirs and irrigation dams in the province in 2023.
Staff of Lac Thuy District Medical Center propagated drowning prevention and treatment for students of Phu Thanh Commune Primary and Secondary School.
In order to proactively prevent risks and drowning accidents for people in general and children in particular at reservoirs and irrigation dams, especially during the summer vacation of students at all levels in the province, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of districts and cities; investors in construction of agricultural and rural projects; LLCs: Hoa Binh , 2/9, Cao Phong irrigation projects to implement a number of contents:
Conduct timely inspection and detection of areas of reservoirs and irrigation dams where drowning accidents often occur or are at risk of drowning accidents to take proactive measures to prevent and ensure safety such as: building barriers, installing warning signs prohibiting swimming in deep and dangerous water areas.
Strengthen construction inspections, enforce vigilance, and remind residents and students not to travel or organize recreational activities (camping, swimming, bathing, etc.) near dangerous areas that pose a potential risk of drowning accidents.
Coordinate with local authorities in communication and propaganda work to raise public awareness about child drowning prevention to households around lakes and dams.
When detecting potential risks of drowning accidents at construction sites managed or under construction, it is necessary to take timely measures and provide information and reports to competent authorities for resolution.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development plans to conduct a field inspection of the above implementation contents in early June 2023.
