The game of 'setting traps' to film and catch mistakes, teachers both teach and worry about parents scolding them

VTC NewsVTC News10/10/2023

My colleague is pregnant so her personality has changed a bit, she is a bit hot-tempered, especially when the students are disobedient. However, she is an enthusiastic teacher, loves her students with all her heart, and is loved by many colleagues and parents.

Students set traps to catch teacher's mistakes

Recently, in a fit of rage, a student secretly recorded a clip to report her, and she was severely cursed by her parents. Faced with the evidence the parents provided, the school could not protect her. She had to write a report, attend many review meetings from the group level to the school level, and was demoted in her emulation rank for violating the ethics of a teacher.

The story of her yelling at her students was later told by some students and shows how heartbreaking and cruel it is for a profession that is always considered noble.

That day, during History class, knowing that she was prone to anger and not wanting to be tested like many times, a student sitting at the back of the class who was known to be a bad student said to the boy next to him , "You wait to film, I'll tease her to make her angry and scold me for fun."

No sooner said than done, the student sat down and asked , “Who stole An Duong Vuong’s crossbow?” The whole class turned around and burst into laughter. Everyone knew he had just watched some silly clips on the internet and was asking an unrelated question.

The teacher sternly invited the student to come up to the board. The student did not stand up, but proudly said with a defiant face: "I don't know the lesson. Give me as many points as you want!"

She loudly said that he was rude and insolent and chased him out of the class. The student became even more arrogant and defiant. The teacher angrily shouted, “ If you don’t leave today, I won’t teach anymore. If you’re in the class, I won’t be there.” She said that to put pressure on the student in front of the class, hoping that he would become disciplined because of that, but she didn’t expect to fall for his trick.

The clip has cut out all the parts of the student saying rude and challenging words, leaving only the teacher's loud words, causing netizens to misunderstand.

Parents are furious.

If in the past, when picking up their children after each class, parents often asked how many points they got today, now the most common question parents ask is, did the teacher scold their children today?

Teachers who remind students are accused of scolding. Teachers who lightly punish students with a centimeter ruler are also called beatings. Just hearing their children say they were scolded and beaten by their teachers, some parents have gone to the school to physically assault teachers, with complaints from one level to another.

Another colleague of mine also had a year of “up and down” just because she reminded a third grader of his wrong homework in front of the class. The student’s mother went to the school to scold and humiliate the teacher in front of the class. They used insulting words.

When parents get tired of cursing, they write petitions to the Department of Education and Training and the province. She has to constantly write petitions to explain to all levels. Usually, when parents make things difficult for them, few principals dare to stand up for teachers, even though they know deep down that the mistake comes from the students' disrespect.

Many principals at this time wanted to appease public opinion so they often oppressed teachers. As a result, teachers became pitiful victims "under the hammer and the anvil".

Even more sadly, when a teacher is sued or attacked with harsh words from parents or public opinion, he or she will be almost isolated in the school. In meetings of the pedagogical council or the emulation council, no teacher dares to stand up to defend them because they are afraid of displeasing the principal.

The principal, under pressure from public opinion and superiors, kept punishing the teachers. These teachers were suddenly alone in their own school.

Because of fear of public opinion, many teachers feel cautious every time they enter the classroom. Some shared that if they accidentally got angry with a student that day, they would lose their temper and punish the student with a cane. So, whenever they see a parent appear outside the classroom door or receive a phone call, they start to tremble.

So there are many scenes where teachers come into class when it's time, and then they leave when it's time. Therefore, there are things happening among the students that many homeroom teachers are still unaware of.
