VPF confirmed that Thai FIFA referee Wiwat Jumpaoon will officiate the match between SHB. Da Nang and Quy Nhon Binh Dinh. This match is considered a "reverse final" between two teams currently at the bottom of the rankings.

Mr. Wiwat Jumpaoon was born in 1989 and has been a FIFA referee since 2018. This referee has proven his ability by regularly participating in international matches. With a long time reaching the FIFA level, referee Wiwat Jumpaoon has received the trust of many Thai football teams. However, he is still involved in controversy.

In 2020, Mr. Wiwat Jumpaoon officiated the match between Muangthong United and Chiangrai in Thai League 1. In this match, Dang Van Lam (then playing for Muangthong) lost to Chiangrai. Not accepting this result, Muangthong United filed a complaint to the Football Association of Thailand (FAT). They said that Mr. Wiwat made many wrong decisions, putting Muangthong United at a disadvantage.

However, after "dissecting" the match tape and the situations mentioned by Muangthong United, FAT spoke up to confirm that referee Wiwat Jumpaoon did the right thing. Mr. Wiwat's reputation therefore became even more prominent.

In addition to the relegation battle between the teams, the match between Nam Dinh Green Steel and Dong A Thanh Hoa (6:00 p.m. at Thien Truong Stadium on May 11) will have referees from Malaysia. Specifically, two FIFA referees, Tuan Mohd Yaasin and Muhamad Izzul, will officiate the match at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh Green Steel vs. Dong A Thanh Hoa (one main referee and one VAR referee).

During this period, VPF prioritizes inviting foreign referees who have previously officiated at V.League. In addition to the issue of transparency and fairness, these foreign referees have had initial experiences with Vietnamese football, will understand the nature of the match, and the tricks of V.League teams.

In addition, 7 matches in round 22 of V.League will apply VAR technology. This is an important stage, deciding the final result of the whole season.
