The two referees honored by FIFA to officiate at a world -class tournament such as the 2024 U.17 Women's World Cup are Le Thi Ly and Ha Thi Phuong. Previously, referee Le Thi Ly was the first female referee from Vietnam to officiate at the Asian Football Confederation's tournament, the 2025 U.20 Asian Cup.
Two female referees were assigned to officiate in the same match. Accordingly, Le Thi Ly was assigned to be the main referee, and Ha Thi Phuong was the assistant referee in the match between the U.17 women's team of Brazil and the U.17 women's team of Zambia. This match took place at 6:00 a.m. on October 18 (Vietnam time), at Felix Sanchez Stadium.

The 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will take place from October 16 to November 3 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The tournament will feature 16 teams, including: host Dominican Republic, Ecuador, New Zealand, Nigeria (Group A); Spain, USA, South Korea, Colombia (Group B); DPRK, Mexico, Kenya, England (Group C); Japan, Poland, Brazil, Zambia (Group D).

The first Vietnamese referee to participate in a world-class football tournament is Truong Thi Le Trinh. Truong Thi Le Trinh is also considered the most famous female referee in Vietnam. Le Trinh is a FIFA Elite (excellent) female assistant referee. This female referee born in 1984 was trusted by the AFC to officiate at international tournaments such as the 2014 Asian Women's Championship (in Vietnam), the 2018 Asian Women's Championship (Jordan), the 2015, 2017, 2019 Asian Women's U.16 and U.19 Championships and many other tournaments in Southeast Asia. In particular, referee Truong Thi Le Trinh has participated in officiating matches at the World Cup. This 40-year-old female referee was a linesman at the 2016 U.17 Women's World Cup (Jordan), the 2018 U.17 Women's World Cup (Uruguay) and the 2022 U.20 Women's World Cup (Costa Rica).
