The National Immigration Administration of China has just released a report showing that from June 12, 2025, Indonesian citizens can apply for a 240-hour transit visa exemption policy to enter China conveniently, thereby increasing the total number of countries enjoying China's 240-hour (ie 10-day) transit visa exemption policy to 55 countries.
Currently, citizens from 55 countries including Indonesia, Russia, the UK, etc., with valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with confirmed dates and seats, can enter China through any of the 60 open ports of entry in 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) including Beijing and Shanghai without a visa and stay in designated areas for no more than 10 days.
During their stay, foreign citizens can engage in activities such as tourism , business, visiting and visiting relatives. For activities that require prior approval, such as work, study and press reporting, a visa is still required.
According to the leader of the National Immigration Administration of China, including Indonesia in the list of countries exempted from 240-hour transit visa is an important measure to implement the spirit of the Central Conference on Neighboring Work and enhance exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.
Thereby, it will help enhance the momentum of cooperation and good exchanges between China and Indonesia, promote more convenient and efficient trade and investment, promote mutual learning between civilizations and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
The National Immigration Administration of China said that in the coming time, this unit will continue to expand the immigration management system, continuously optimize entry and exit policies, improve the convenience for foreigners to travel and live in China, and welcome more foreign friends to China with better management measures and services./.
