AP-HP, with 38 public hospitals, 6 complexes and nearly 100,000 medical staff, is the largest medical network in France as well as the largest in Europe, receiving about 8 million patients each year.
AP-HP is also a leading medical research center with 11 research institutes, directly coordinating hospital-university alliances. AP-HP is especially a leader in rare disease treatment with 181 active rare disease reference centers.
AP-HP also accepts and trains many Vietnamese doctors within the framework of the specialized and advanced medical training program (DFMS/DFMSA) in France.
With the signing of this cooperation agreement, the two sides committed to promoting cooperation and facilitating exchange activities in the fields of: medical training; scientific research; health care; hospital management.

To achieve the above objectives, the two sides will deploy the reception of medical staff (including medical, paraclinical, technical and administrative) according to the current legal regulations of each country through the following forms: short-term internships in the form of observation, internships under the DFMS and/or DFMSA programs; joint internships for a period of 6 months or 1 year; reception of interns according to the provisions of Decree No. 2017-1601 dated November 22, 2017 related to temporary practice in the fields of medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.
The two sides will also establish hospital team groups; exchange quality practice procedures in the medical field, maintain medical environmental hygiene and all other professional fields in which the sides have agreed to cooperate.
The two sides will also organize seminars and conferences; implement clinical research programs and potential transfer.
The signing of the cooperation agreement shows AP-HP's recognition of the role of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in training and research in the health sciences sector in Vietnam, especially in developing Linh Dam Hospital towards a smart, high-tech, digitally managed hospital.
The agreement also opens up many new cooperation opportunities for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy to contribute to enriching the tradition of French-Vietnamese cooperation in the medical field for many decades.
