University of Medicine and Pharmacy for the first time considers 2 groups with English subject

This year, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi , enrolls 720 students for 6 training majors. Of which, the medical major enrolls 260 students, the pharmacy major 220 students; the dental and maxillofacial majors, medical testing techniques, medical imaging techniques, and nursing each enroll 60 students.

The school uses admission methods, including direct admission and priority admission; considering high school graduation exam results; considering university preparatory students; considering HSA capacity assessment test results; considering English certificates; considering according to the specific mechanism of Hanoi National University.

With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, in addition to the two traditional admission combinations the school considered last year, which were B00 (math, chemistry, biology), A00 (math, physics, chemistry), this year the school expanded to 2 new combinations with English as a subject, including D08 (math, biology, English) and D07 (math, chemistry, English).

The admission combinations to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2025 are allocated as follows:

For candidates taking the HSA competency assessment test, the school requires that the competency assessment test must have a biology topic for the medical, dental, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, and nursing majors; and a chemistry topic for the pharmaceutical major.

At the same time, candidates must have an average score of 8.0 or higher in biology in 3 years of high school for medical and dental majors; 7.0 or higher for medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology and nursing.

For pharmacy, candidates must have an average chemistry score of 8.0 or higher in 3 years of high school.

For candidates with a foreign language certificate, it can be converted to replace the exam subject in the admission combination corresponding to the field of study. The admission score is the sum of the converted IELTS score plus the scores of the remaining two subjects in the four admission combinations of the school.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to charge VND62 million per year for the 2025-2026 enrollment period. Last year, the tuition for medicine was VND55 million per year, pharmacy was VND51 million per year, and other majors were VND27.6 million per year.

The benchmark score of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy last year was from 24.49 to 27.15 points. Medicine was the highest scoring major.
