Hanoi Medical University first considers admission to group A, eliminates considering capacity assessment scores

This year, the school will enroll 1,910 students, an increase of about 190 students compared to last year. Hanoi Medical University has opened two new majors, including social work and medical imaging technology.

This year, for the first time, the school will consider admission to the A00 group (math, physics, chemistry) for majors such as: ophthalmology refraction, medical testing techniques, rehabilitation techniques, nursing, midwifery, social work...

Besides, the school still uses the four admission combinations from last year, including B00 (math, chemistry, biology), B08 (math, biology, English), C00 (literature, history, geography), D01 (math, literature, English).

For medical, traditional medicine, dentistry, and preventive medicine, the school only considers group B00 (math, biochemistry).

According to Hanoi Medical University, this year the school will only consider admission by two methods, including direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi Medical University; admission based on high school graduation exam scores.

The school has not yet clearly announced the conditions and criteria for direct admission.

Last year, in addition to the two admission methods above, Hanoi Medical University also considered admission based on the results of the Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam; combined high school graduation exam scores with international language certificates (foreign language certificates are a preliminary admission condition).

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Associate Professor Dr. Le Dinh Tung - Vice Principal of Hanoi Medical University - said that this year the school plans to apply direct admission to candidates who have won national and international Olympiad awards; and candidates who have completed the university preparatory program.

In addition, some majors will directly admit candidates who won prizes in national science and technology competitions for high school students, and candidates selected by the Ministryof Education and Training to attend international science and technology competitions.

Candidates with international language certificates will be converted into incentive points by the school.

"This year, the school will not use the results of the Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam for admission, because the number of applicants to the school last year was not large," said Mr. Tung.
