(CPV) - In 2023, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH) will open a university-level Pharmacy major, bringing the total number of training majors of the University to 17. The Pharmacy major at USTH aims to train and equip students with in-depth pharmaceutical knowledge and practical experience, in order to provide a source of high-quality pharmacists for the health care industry.
The Pharmacy program at USTH has a 5-year training period. Students learn theory combined with practice through a variety of internship activities, especially professional internships at hospitals or pharmaceutical companies. 70% of the program will be taught in English to equip students with proficient foreign language skills so that they can confidently enter the global labor market. The program with modern, updated knowledge provides opportunities for exchange with foreign institutions and is taught by a team of leading lecturers and experts. USTH also invests in modern facilities with a system of laboratories and advanced equipment to meet quality standards for training and in-depth research in the pharmaceutical field.
The Pharmacy major will start enrolling students from 2023 through 2 admission methods: (1) Admission based on the results of the competency assessment test organized by the School and (2) Admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam (Major code: 7720201). The enrollment target for 2023 is 30 students.
Candidates submit their applications via the School's online admission system https://apply.usth.edu.vn/. Expected application period: from September 7, 2023 to September 16, 2023.
The preliminary selection conditions and selection process applicable to each selection method in 2023 are as follows:

Admission process | - Candidates are evaluated through 3 rounds: Review of capacity profile; Knowledge test/High school graduation exam results according to combination; and Interview - Admission score is the total score of the capacity profile, knowledge test score (converted from the high school graduation exam combination with a weight of 1.5) and interview score. - Admission is conducted according to a 100-point assessment scale and ensures the input quality of the School. | - Candidates are evaluated based on the results of the high school graduation exam combination. - Admission score is the total score of 3 combined subjects, with each exam/subject calculated on a 10-point scale. - Admission is conducted in order from highest score to the school's standard score. |
In addition, USTH will also organize the program "Introducing Pharmacy" to provide the most complete information about this new major of the School to interested parents and students on August 20, 2023.
