Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema announced the School Council for the 2023-2028 term

Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong delivered a speech assigning tasks to the School Council.

At the ceremony, Mr. Ha Minh Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, approved two decisions of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the recognition of the University Council and the Chairman of the University Council. Accordingly, the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema for the 2023-2028 term consists of 15 members, representing the faculty, staff, employees, students of the University and a number of external members from many agencies and units who are prestigious experts with extensive experience in the field of theatre and cinema, such as: Ms. Phan Linh Chi, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association; Mr. Giang Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, Chairman of the Dong Nai Province Literature and Arts Association; Mr. Le Quy Duong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development Association; Mr. Tran Ngoc Giau, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association. The School Council also unanimously elected Master - Meritorious Artist Le Nguyen Dat, Secretary of the Party Cell of Lecturers 2, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union to hold the position of Chairman of the School Council.

Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong presented the decision to recognize the establishment of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema for the term 2023-2028.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong congratulated Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema and the members of the council. According to the Deputy Minister, implementing the Law on Higher Education and guiding documents, Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema has established the School Council to perfect the organization and operation of the School, aiming to promote autonomy, self-responsibility and build the School into a key school for training human resources for theatre and cinema in the Southern region and nationwide. Compared to other higher education institutions under the Ministry, the establishment of the School Council has been prolonged and has encountered many difficulties. However, with the direction of the Party Executive Committee, the Ministry's leaders, the drastic participation of the Ministry's functional units such as the Department of Organization and Personnel, the Department of Planning and Finance, the Department of Training, the Ministry Inspectorate... and related ministries and branches such as the Central Organization Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training , the Ministry of Home Affairs, especially the efforts of the collective of cadres, lecturers, civil servants, and workers, up to now, the School Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema for the term 2023-2028 has been officially established.

Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong presented the decision to recognize Mr. Le Nguyen Dat as Chairman of the School Council.

“I believe and hope that the School Council will be an important governance organization, deciding on the most important issues regarding the organization and operation of the school, supervising compliance with the law, democratic regulations and accountability of the Principal, supervising the management and use of finance and assets, being responsible for reporting and explaining to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Training and competent state agencies assigned according to regulations, aiming at implementing university autonomy, excellently completing assigned tasks”, the Deputy Minister emphasized and requested the School Council to properly and fully perform its assigned functions and tasks; promptly review, complete and promulgate the system of regulations and rules of the school, especially the Regulations on organization and operation, Financial regulations, Regulations on implementing democracy at the grassroots level... ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education , regulations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant specialized legal regulations.

Chairman of the School Board Le Nguyen Dat gave a speech accepting the assignment.

“Members of the School Council need to properly and fully perform their responsibilities, promote their strengths, strengths, management experience, and contribute to the work of building, formulating policies, and orienting the development of the School. The Chairman of the School Council must play a central role, promote the spirit of solidarity, democracy, responsibility, set an example, and constantly improve prestige and professional qualifications to work with the members to successfully fulfill the School's mission”, the Deputy Minister directed and at the same time sent his thanks to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Grassroots Bloc, and leaders of relevant agencies and units for accompanying, supporting, and creating all favorable conditions in the process of implementing and establishing the School Council of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema for the 2023-2028 term.

Speaking on behalf of the School Board, Mr. Le Nguyen Dat thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for trusting, entrusting and assigning tasks. “I believe that each member of the School Board will demonstrate their full potential, role and contribution to the development of the School in general. Personally, I will become the central figure, inspiring the members to work together, together on a new path, which may be difficult, but with faith and with utmost effort, we hope to have better and more complete development steps”, Mr. Le Nguyen Dat expressed and hoped that in the coming time, the School as well as the School Board will continue to receive the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other departments, to perfect the school leadership apparatus as well as professional work.
