Schools call for donations to subsidize nannies, Thu Duc City directs immediate stop

On the afternoon of September 26, at the regular socio -economic press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City - informed about the fact that some parents whose children study at the primary school reported that the school called on parents to support the payment of the August allowance for the nanny. This amount is collected voluntarily from parents and paid to the school.

According to Ms. Hien, on September 9, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City issued a document to rectify the work of mobilizing educational funding.

In particular, note that schools are not allowed to solicit sponsorship. Do not solicit sponsorship to pay for: teaching fees; expenses directly related to management staff, teachers, lecturers and staff, security and protection activities; fees for looking after students' vehicles; fees for maintaining classroom and school hygiene; rewards for management staff, teachers and staff; costs to support the management of educational institutions.

Therefore, Ms. Hien said that upon receiving information about the incident, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City reviewed and directed to immediately stop the mobilization and return the illegally collected fees.

In addition, on September 24, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City issued a decision to inspect the 2024-2025 school year, including inspecting the management of revenue and expenditure at the beginning of the year, the mobilization of educational funding as well as the operating expenses of the Parents' Representative Committee.

The inspection took place from October to the end of November to rectify and take measures to handle units that deliberately did not comply with regulations.
