As of now, 14 out of 16 tickets to the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship have been determined. These are the seven group winners: Australia (Group A), Thailand (Group B), Japan (Group C), Vietnam (Group E), Kyrgyzstan (Group F), Iran (Group G), and Afghanistan (Group H), along with host nation Indonesia.
The six best-performing second-placed teams are Kuwait, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon, and Malaysia.
Currently, only Group D (Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Pakistan) remains undecided. This group will play from October 18 to 22 in Saudi Arabia to determine the final two spots in the Finals.
For the remainder of 2025, the Vietnamese futsal team will be aiming for the 2025 SEA Games, which will take place in December in Thailand.
After that, the entire team will continue to focus on the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship Finals, held in Indonesia from January 27 to February 7, featuring the 16 strongest teams in the continent.
By qualifying for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship, the Vietnamese futsal team has become the fourth Vietnamese football team to participate in a continental final tournament in 2026.
Previously, the Vietnamese women's national team, the Vietnamese U23 team, and the Vietnamese U20 women's team successfully qualified for the 2026 Asian Cup Finals.
