Nguyen Trai Secondary School was honored to receive the Government's Excellent Emulation Flag.

Nguyen Trai Secondary School (formerly known as Nghi Xuan District Gifted School) was established in 1999 under Decision No. 157-1999/QD/UB dated August 22, 1999 of Nghi Xuan District People's Committee, located in Block 1, Nghi Xuan Town (now Giang Thuy Residential Area, Tien Dien Town), Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh Province. In the 1999-2000 school year, the school had 23 classes, 42 staff - teachers - employees merged from Nghi Xuan District Gifted School and Xuan Giang Secondary School. Currently, the school has 22 classes, 49 staff - teachers - employees. With the continuous efforts of staff, teachers, employees and students through each generation, in the 2004-2005 school year, Nguyen Trai Secondary School became the first secondary school in Nghi Xuan district to be recognized as a national standard school, achieved the title of excellent labor collective and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial People's Committee, and became the cradle of training and nurturing excellent students at the district, provincial and national levels of the district.

In 2015, Nghi Xuan District People's Committee issued Document No. 254/TTr-UBND dated October 27, 2015 on the proposal to approve the project "Building key schools in the period of 2016 - 2020 and the following years", which was unanimously approved by the District People's Council in Resolution No. 84/2015/NQ-HDND dated December 29, 2015 to build Nguyen Trai Secondary School into a key secondary school of the district. In the 2020-2021 school year, the school achieved level 3 accreditation and level 2 national standards, and received the emulation flag of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee. In the 2021-2022 school year, the school continued to lead the emulation block of Nghi Xuan District Secondary School, Ha Tinh Province and received the emulation flag of the Prime Minister .

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Luong, Party Cell Secretary, Principal of Nguyen Trai Secondary School said, we always define clear and consistent goals, taking comprehensiveeducation as the focus of all activities in the school, students are the focus of teaching and learning activities. On that basis, the board of directors develops plans, activity programs as well as educational content suitable for teaching and learning, creating a scientific, harmonious, friendly and attractive educational environment for both teachers and learners.

The school's experiential activities program aims to equip students with more knowledge, skills, and love for English, school, teachers, and friends.

Thanks to these efforts, students of Nguyen Trai Secondary School are not only fully and comprehensively taught basic general science knowledge, developing talents, creativity, and physical training, but also develop and perfect necessary personal qualities such as: Independent living skills, mutual respect, community integration, compassion, love and confidence. They are also given favorable conditions to be able to develop their talents to the fullest through participating in excellent student competitions at school, district, provincial and national levels; through art and sports competitions, swimming competitions, folk singing competitions, and child talent searches...

The school has been leading the competition for junior high schools in Nghi Xuan district for many years. In particular, the school is always the leading unit in the quality of admission to grade 10 in Nghi Xuan district and the top of Ha Tinh province.

In the 2021-2022 school year, the school has 39 excellent students at the provincial level with 5 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 14 third prizes; 11 consolation prizes, including 3 valedictorians. In particular, Tran Minh Hoang is the valedictorian of the provincial youth informatics competition with a perfect score of 20/20, and won third prize in the national youth informatics competition. Tran Minh Hoang is also the only junior high school student in Ha Tinh province invited to attend the Kanggaroo International Math Summer Camp 2022.

Party cell secretary and principal Nguyen Thi Hai Luong received the title of Nguyen Trai Secondary School Party cell meeting the standard of "Typical clean and strong" in 2022.

There are 50 students who passed the entrance exams to Vinh University High School for the Gifted, Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted with 4 valedictorians. Among them, 3 students were valedictorians in Math, Chemistry, and Literature to Vinh University High School for the Gifted, 1 student was valedictorian in Math from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and 2 students were co-valedictorians in Math and Physics from Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, 1 student received an invitation to enroll directly at the University of Natural Sciences High School for the Gifted - Hanoi. In particular, Tran Minh Hoang and Vo Trong Khai were valedictorians in Math from Vinh University High School for the Gifted and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted with a math score of 20/20.

The school is also a unit with high achievements in discovering and nurturing excellent students in Ha Tinh province. In the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, there were 8th grade students who surpassed their grade to compete in the 9th grade math competition and won first and second prizes at the provincial level. Many students won high prizes in math competitions in the math and youth magazines and childhood math. Tran Minh Hoang is currently studying in grade 10 at Ha Tinh specialized school and Vo Trong Khai is studying in grade 10 at Phan Boi Chau specialized school, Nghe An province. Both students are preparing to participate in the national math competition for excellent students in grade 12, after reaching the top of the selection team for the national math competition of Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces. In the 2021-2022 school year, the school had an average score of 7.72 for the 10th grade entrance exam for high school: Literature; Math: 8.08 and English: 8.36. High school entrance exam results ranked 3rd in the province.

Nguyen Trai Secondary School organizes experiential learning and teaching associated with heritage.

With the achievements in the process of construction and development, the school has been honored to receive many noble titles and awards from the Government, Ha Tinh province, and the education and training sector. Especially in the 2021-2022 school year, Nguyen Trai Secondary School was honored to receive the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Government.
