On May 19, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the Argentine newspaper Resumen Latinoamericano published an article praising him, an outstanding world leader and politician.
According to a VNA reporter in Buenos Aires, in the article, Resumen Latinoamericano affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh was a politician , intellectual, and an influential thinker in the world, who gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945.
The article emphasizes that although President Ho Chi Minh died in 1969, six years before the Vietnamese army and people liberated the South and reunified the country, he left a great legacy in world history and in the hearts of the people.
During the resistance war against the US to save the country, generations of people marched to the South to liberate the country with the slogan "Uncle Ho is still marching with us," Resumen Latinoamericano recalled.
"President Ho Chi Minh is remembered as one of the most brilliant and steadfast activists in the struggle for socialism, as well as one of the most brilliant innovators in that cause. Although the country suffered from the American military, President Ho Chi Minh passed on his strength to the Vietnamese people. And Vietnam became a symbol of the struggle of developing countries against imperialism," according to Resumen Latinoamericano.
In 1990, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized the Vietnamese leader as a National Liberation Hero and a Great Man of Culture.
UNESCO affirmed that the Vietnamese leader, an outstanding symbol of a nation's right to self-determination, devoted his entire life to the cause of national liberation of the Vietnamese people, contributing to the common struggle of nations for peace, independence, democracy and social progress.
Resumen Latinoamericano emphasized that the world media ranked President Ho Chi Minh in the list of 100 most influential figures in world history in the 20th century, because of his charisma as a leader and an outstanding politician.
The newspaper also published a picture of President Ho Chi Minh and a quote from his Declaration of Independence: “All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. Among these rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
On the same day, Argentina's Movimiento Cultural Acercandonos also published an article titled "Ho Chi Minh, symbol of the struggle against imperialism, colonialism and exploitation of the Third World."
The article affirms that his name stands out among the great men of the world's proletariat, far beyond the borders of Vietnam.
"Vietnam's victory over the US army proved that it is possible to defeat imperialism despite the huge difference in resources. Around the world, many large mass organizations have united with the Vietnamese revolution. The image and prestige of President Ho Chi Minh are respected by the whole world. He is a great leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam and of the international proletariat. Ho Chi Minh and the communists led the way for the Vietnamese working class and peasants to liberate the country and gain independence and freedom," Movimiento Cultural Acercandonos emphasized./.
