Polish Radio (Polskie Radio) on January 16 published an article titled "Vietnamese Prime Minister's historic visit to Poland marks 75 years of diplomatic relations".
Polskie Radio reported that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife arrived in Poland on a three-day official visit to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Vietnam is Poland's largest economic and trade partner and the largest importer of agricultural products and food in Southeast Asia.
At a press conference summarizing the results of the talks between the two heads of government, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized the long-standing relationship between the Polish and Vietnamese people.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cited that Vietnamese students still know by heart the poem "Em oi...Ba Lan..." composed by poet To Huu in the late 1950s as a tribute to Poland's support in Vietnam's struggle for independence and post-war reconstruction, enlightened by the common values of freedom and solidarity.
Stressing that Poland and Vietnam are committed to strengthening economic and geopolitical relations, Polskie Radio said the two Prime Ministers discussed enhancing economic, scientific and technological cooperation, while stressing the importance of balancing trade and investment.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk pledged to support the prompt ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and stressed Vietnam's openness to Polish investments, especially in the defense industry.
Polskie Radio also reported that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced a short-term visa exemption for Polish citizens, in order to facilitate Polish tourists to Vietnam.
The two leaders also discussed geopolitical issues, including the conflict in Ukraine, and pledged to work together for peace and coordinate more closely on international issues.

According to the Polish Prime Minister, the potential for increasing bilateral trade is very promising considering the growth rate of both countries' economies.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Poland's important socio-economic achievements and emphasized the significant trade growth between the two countries, reaching 14% by 2024, equivalent to 3.4 billion USD.
According to the Vietnamese Prime Minister, the main focus of Vietnam-Poland relations will be cooperation between defense industries, especially in technological innovation, drone production and training.
"For this reason, we decided to exempt visas for Polish citizens," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he had received an invitation from his Vietnamese counterpart and planned to visit Hanoi this year.
