The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just sent a document to relevant units to implement the use of level 2 personal electronic identification accounts for passengers when checking in for flights.
Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requested agencies and units to simultaneously deploy two tasks.
Long-term mission: deploy level 2 personal electronic identification account authentication application for passengers when checking in for flights combined with biometric authentication of passengers throughout the journey.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC and Van Don International Airport to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to synchronously implement biometric authentication, combined with authentication of citizen identification cards with electronic chips (for Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC, which is piloting in Phu Bai, Cat Bi, Noi Bai as per Document No. 2390/CHK-ANHK dated May 12, 2023 and other relevant documents of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam).
For the immediate task, pilot the application of the rapid inspection method as instructed by the Ministry of Public Security in Document No. 1101/BCA-QLHC, and evaluate the effectiveness after the pilot.

The pilot will be implemented simultaneously at airports from June 1, 2023 to August 1, 2023 for domestic flights.
At check-in counters and when boarding, accept level 2 electronic identification accounts when passengers check in for flights in 2 steps: Require passengers to open their own level 2 electronic identification accounts; compare the passenger's photo on the level 2 electronic identification account with the real person and compare the passenger's information on the flight with the information on the level 2 electronic identification account.

At the same time, at the check-in counter, aviation security check line, and pilot boarding point, there must be a sign announcing the acceptance of level 2 electronic identification accounts when passengers check in for flights (voluntary passengers).
