From traditional rice paper to 3-star OCOP product of a 9X girl

With her experience and creativity, this girl born in 1990 has contributed to diversifying products, which are welcomed by consumers not only in her hometown but also spread throughout the country. In particular, Thien Huong brown rice paper has been recognized as a 3-star OCOP product locally.

Every day, Ms. Huong has to wake up at 3-4 am to make the rice cakes, taking advantage of the sunny weather to dry the cakes. The hotter the sun, the faster the cakes dry, the more supple and delicious they are.

From selecting the right type of rice to milling, soaking, rinsing and drying, everything requires meticulousness and care. On average, Ms. Huong's rice paper oven makes more than 2,000 cakes a day.

Not only earning extra income, Ms. Huong also cares and creates jobs for women in the neighborhood. Each person has a job, from arranging cakes, drying cakes, removing cakes to packaging...

In addition to producing traditional rice paper, Ms. Huong also researches and diversifies products. Currently, her rice paper factory also makes brown rice paper, coconut spiced rice paper, white sesame rice paper, black sesame rice paper, etc.

Sharing about the idea of producing brown rice paper, Ms. Huong said: “More and more people are interested in healthy eating. While the output of rice paper is increasingly difficult, I came up with the idea of making brown rice paper and it has been chosen by many customers.”

Thanks to her continuous efforts, Thien Huong brown rice paper products have been recognized as a 3-star OCOP product locally. This is also the best-selling product at her facility.

Besides, she also participates in social networks to promote and introduce her facility’s products. Thien Huong rice paper not only sells well in the province but also reaches consumers across the country.
