Ethnic minority students make their mark

At the age of 18 - the age when they are still in school, many students in Ha Tinh have had the honor of being admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam . This is not only a personal pride, but also clearly reflects the strong spread of the model of "Party members at the age of 18" in the school environment, especially in mountainous areas.

On June 10, three ethnic minority female students, including Bui Thi Ha Vy (Muong ethnic group), Le Thi Thao Vy (Lao ethnic group) and Nguyen Thi Bao Vy (Dao ethnic group), all 12th grade students of Ha Tinh Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School, officially joined the Party.

Mr. Dang Ba Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Vice Principal of Ha Tinh Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, said: These are typical faces not only in terms of academic performance, but also in terms of active participation in Youth Union - Association activities, student movements at school and in the locality.

Ha Vy is the Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union 12, an excellent student and actively participates in school, class and local movements. Sharing at the admission ceremony, Bui Thi Ha Vy could not hide her emotions: “As an ethnic minority student, being in the Party ranks is a great honor for me. I will continue to study hard and practice to be worthy of the trust of the Party organization, teachers and family”.

In recent years, the Party Cell of Ha Tinh Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School has focused on discovering and nurturing outstanding members. During the 2020-2025 term, the number of 18-year-old students admitted to the Party at the cell increased 5 times compared to the 2015-2020 term. If previously there were only 2 students, this term the whole school admitted 10 more 18-year-old party members.

“That is not only a number with political significance, but also a positive signal reflecting the change in the thinking of ethnic students. To achieve this result, the school has actively developed many plans and programs to propagate and educate students on political ideology and lifestyle ethics such as: extracurricular activities, flag-raising activities, programs towards red addresses…”, the school’s Vice Principal shared.

Admitting ethnic minority students to the Party is both a recognition of individual efforts and a demonstration of the school's Party Cell's determination to discover and nurture young Party members, contributing to increasing the proportion of Party members among ethnic minorities, and building a contingent of young, high-quality Party members in difficult mountainous areas.

The model of "Party members at the age of 18" spreads in schools

Not only at ethnic boarding schools, the movement to develop young party members is also effectively implemented at many other high schools in Ha Tinh.

At Thanh Sen High School (Ha Tinh), the General and Social Party Cell recently held a Party admission ceremony for 7 12th grade students with outstanding academic and training achievements. Under the Party flag and in a solemn atmosphere, the students recited the oath with solemnity, clearly demonstrating their maturity in political awareness and sense of responsibility towards themselves and society.

Bui Khanh Chi, a student of class 12H, shared: “The moment of reading the oath is an unforgettable milestone. I understand that from now on, I have to live more responsibly and seriously so as not to disappoint the expectations of the Party organization and teachers.”

From 2020 to present, Thanh Sen High School Youth Union has introduced 152 outstanding members to participate in the Party awareness training class. Of these, 55 have been admitted. The school will continue to consider admitting 7 more outstanding students in the near future.

Equally notable, on the afternoon of June 9, the Party Committee of Ky Anh High School held a ceremony to admit 23 outstanding students to the Party. Mr. Tran Huu Linh - Party Secretary and Principal of the school shared: "Being in the ranks of the Party while still in school is a great honor, demonstrating the Party's trust in the young generation. This is also a motivation for students to continue to strive, practice, and become outstanding citizens, contributing to the development of their homeland and country."

On behalf of the new party members, Tran Thi Thanh Hang - 12A6 expressed her honor and pride in being admitted to the Party. “Being in the Party is a great honor. I know the journey ahead will be full of challenges, but it is also an opportunity for me to practice and contribute more to society,” young party member Tran Thi Thanh Hang promised herself.

Many high schools and vocational training centers in Ha Tinh have also created the model of "Party members aged 18" and "Young Party members" clubs to create an effective political environment, gather outstanding members, foster awareness, and spread the spirit of striving to join the Party. At the meetings, students listen to the sharing of young party members and experienced teachers, thereby shaping their ideals and promoting their motivation to study.

According to Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Viet Hai Dang, many 18-year-old students in Ha Tinh were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam, which is a clear demonstration of the success of the “Party members at age 18” model in political and ideological education in schools. It is not only the recognition of the Party organization for the training process and efforts of the students, but also a sustainable direction in the development of young cadres, especially in difficult areas.

“We continue to direct school Youth Unions to promote the model of “Party members at the age of 18” by organizing seminars and forums such as “Party with youth - Youth with the Party”, volunteer movements, support for exam season, etc. These are training spaces, helping students to contribute and mature, thereby discovering outstanding factors with enough qualities to be introduced for Party membership right from school”, informed the Deputy Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union.

According to data from the Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union, from 2022 to present, Youth Union organizations in schools have introduced more than 10,000 outstanding members to the Party. Of these, nearly 2,500 students have been officially admitted, contributing to rejuvenating the Party membership and building a solid successor force for the Party in the future.

In the 2024-2025 school year alone, the province has more than 1,530 students introduced to attend Party awareness classes, of which 220 have been officially admitted. It is expected that from now until August 2025, 370 more students will be admitted to the Party.
