Vietnam women's volleyball team faces Kenya before world tournament

(Dan Tri) - Before participating in the world championship in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have a friendly match with the Kenyan team. This match is scheduled to take place tonight (August 19).

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team was originally scheduled to play a friendly match with the Kenyan women's team on August 16. However, due to the Kenyan girls' delayed flight, the match with the African women's team was postponed to 7 p.m. tonight in Hanoi .

Interestingly, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and the Kenyan team will be in the same group G at the 2025 World Championship. This tournament will start on August 22 in Thailand.

Currently, the Kenyan team is ranked 23rd in the world, while the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is ranked 22nd. This is a ranking set and monitored by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

After the match with Kenya tonight, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will complete their preparations for the world championship. During this preparation, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will compete with two opponents, Spain and Kenya.

Perhaps in the match against Kenya tonight, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will use his strongest lineup, to test all positions before entering the world championship.

In the group stage of the 2025 World Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will face Poland on August 23, Germany on August 25, and Kenya on August 27.
