On the evening of June 18, the Government Youth Union held a ceremony to honor "Outstanding Young Journalists" in 2025.
This is a program to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), and to welcome the 1st Government Party Congress (term 2025-2030).
Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized that in the solemn and proud atmosphere of the whole country towards the 100th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's revolutionary press, the program is a very meaningful initiative of the Government Youth Union, demonstrating deep concern for the next generations of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that exactly a century ago, from the Thanh Nien newspaper founded by the great leader Nguyen Ai Quoc and President Ho Chi Minh , the Vietnamese revolutionary press was born, carrying within it a historical mission, a torch to light the way, a sharp ideological weapon, gathering and encouraging the nation and compatriots in the cause of fighting for national independence...
Over 100 years of accompanying the country, generations of journalists have always been present at the forefront, from the Viet Bac resistance base to the Dien Bien Phu battlefield; from the legendary Truong Son road to factory projects in the renovation process.
Their pens not only record history but also contribute to creating history, lighting the fire of patriotism, the desire for peace and the spirit of innovation and creativity.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, we are living in a new era, an era of deep international integration, of the fourth industrial revolution, of the great aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam by 2045.
“That context brings both opportunities and challenges to journalists, especially young journalists. More than ever, the Government and the people need from the press a mainstream, accurate, timely and well-oriented information stream; need sharp, in-depth articles that reflect reality, participate practically in the policy implementation process, contribute to removing bottlenecks, promote institutional reform, improve the investment and business environment. We need humane works that spread positive energy, multiply the good values of the Vietnamese people, promote the image of a beautiful, dynamic, innovative Vietnam and a trusted destination for international friends,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
To meet those requirements, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that young journalists will focus on maintaining a “clear heart, bright mind, and sharp pen” - these are the core qualities of revolutionary journalists. The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that young journalists will become pioneers on the digital transformation front.
“You are the generation born and raised with technology. Take advantage of that to master digital platforms, develop multimedia journalism and bring information to the public in the fastest and most attractive way,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that young journalists will be pioneers in the fight against fake news and toxic news, contributing to cleaning up cyberspace and building a civilized and safe digital society.
Continuously learn, improve the capacity and professionalism of journalists. Journalism is a lifelong learning profession, requiring constant improvement of knowledge about politics, economics, culture, society, law, etc., and also training of professional skills to be able to work in an international environment.
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the 50 outstanding young journalists who were honored; at the same time, he hoped that the young journalists would continue to strive and make worthy contributions to the cause of building a Vietnamese revolutionary press that is increasingly professional, humane, and humanitarian, effectively serving the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the era of national development, prosperity, and strength.
The program honors 50 outstanding young journalists in government agencies and units. The title recognizes the outstanding achievements and enthusiastic dedication of reporters, editors, and young media workers of the Government Youth Union to the press industry and each agency and unit.
Among the 50 young journalists, Vietnam News Agency has 6 members honored: Vo Manh Hung, Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam Plus Electronic Newspaper; Nguyen Xuan Tung, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Domestic News Editorial Board; Pham The Doan, reporter for Tin Tuc and Dan Toc Newspaper; Trinh Linh Ha, editor of the Foreign News Editorial Board; Le Thi Mai Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Economic News Editorial Board; Nguyen Khanh Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Photo Editorial Board.
Member of the Government Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Government Youth Union Bui Hoang Tung said that the commendation ceremony is a source of encouragement for young journalists to continue to strive, practice, and fulfill their mission well, especially in creating a flow of information in society, speaking the voice of truth, carrying a high spirit of social criticism and orienting public opinion; so that each of their works will contribute to building a Vietnamese revolutionary press that is increasingly professional, humane and modern.
According to the Secretary of the Government Youth Union, the 50 young journalists honored are living proof of the image of a new-age journalist: daring to go, daring to write, daring to commit, daring to take responsibility, updating technology and constantly innovating, not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships.
From the border to remote islands; from hot, pressing issues that are of public interest to beautiful stories that spread the humanistic spirit in society, journalists have contributed to creating influential and moving journalistic works to inspire and multiply meaningful work for the community and for the cause of building a prosperous and happy country in the new era./.
