Vietnam women's futsal team ready to face Japan in the quarter-finals of the Asian tournament

"After the group stage, our opponents were the Japanese women's futsal team - a high-quality team. We had trained in Japan and played friendly matches with this team.

They have a fast playing style, good technique and caused us a lot of difficulties," coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said about his opponent in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Asian women's futsal tournament taking place tomorrow (10am on May 13, Vietnam time).

At the end of the group stage, the Vietnamese women's futsal team won first place in Group B with two wins against the Hong Kong (China) and Philippines women's futsal teams, and a draw against Iran.

According to coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang, after receiving information about the opponent in the quarter-finals, the coaching staff quickly met to discuss a suitable tactical plan.

Today (May 12), the Vietnamese women's futsal team had a training session to improve their intensity, playing speed and competitive mentality, ready for the important confrontation with Japan.

"Mentally, the Japanese team may be affected after the 1-3 loss to the Thai team. We will take advantage of that," coach Dinh Hoang said about his team's chance to create a surprise.

However, the match with the Japanese women's team in the quarter-finals is considered very difficult for coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team when the Vietnamese futsal team lost 1-4 to Japan in a friendly match before the tournament.

"We have closely monitored and evaluated our opponents. The coaching staff will have appropriate tactical plans so that the team can best prepare for the upcoming match.

The goal of the Vietnamese women's futsal team is still to try to enter the top three, thereby winning a ticket to the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup in the Philippines," coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang concluded.
