The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the rankings of national women's teams for August 2025 this afternoon, August 7. The Vietnamese women's team continues to lead the Southeast Asian region, holding the 37th position in the world.
This position helps the Vietnamese women's team move 2 places above the Philippines and far ahead of other teams in the Southeast Asian region. Specifically, Thailand has just dropped 7 places, to 53rd place in the world and is 16 places away from coach Mai Duc Chung and his team.
Apart from Thailand, Indonesia is the women's team with the biggest decline in Southeast Asia, falling 11 places to 106th in the world. Myanmar dropped 1 place to 56th, while Laos dropped 6 places to 113th. Cambodia remained at 118th.
On the other hand, Timor Leste rose 1 place to 157th place. Malaysia and Singapore impressed by rising 10 places to 92nd and 149th place.
In the top positions, the Spanish women's team surpassed the US team to take the world lead, while Sweden rose three places to take third place.
The top 10 strongest women's teams in the world are: Spain, USA, Sweden, England, Germany, France, Brazil, Japan, Canada and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Asia has two representatives in this group: Japan and North Korea.
In this update, the Bangladesh women's team is the team that has improved the most in this update, rising 24 places to 104th place in the world. On the other hand, the Mongolian women's team has fallen 22 places, becoming the team with the biggest drop globally.
