Speaking at the meeting, Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Loi reviewed the glorious 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly.
Over nearly 80 years of formation and development, the Vietnamese National Assembly has accompanied the nation through many historical ups and downs. From the early difficult days of building and defending the country to the renovation and integration process today, the Vietnamese National Assembly has always affirmed its role as the highest representative body, the highest state power body, representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the Vietnamese people.
The great achievements and precious traditions of the glorious 80-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly will create an important and solid foundation for the 15th National Assembly and subsequent National Assemblies to continue to inherit, promote, and better perform the functions, tasks, and powers according to the Constitution and laws.
The Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation reviewed the achievements of the 15th Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation, term 2021-2026.
The year 2025 will go down in history as a milestone of special significance in the process of reforming the State apparatus in the spirit of the 13th National Party Congress and the development requirements in the new period: the three National Assembly Delegations of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province were officially merged into the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation is not only representative of three localities, but also embodies a new stature - a National Assembly Delegation that is closer to the people, more comprehensive in regional interests, closer to reality, and stronger in national influence.
This is also an urgent requirement for us to innovate our working methods, improve our representative capacity, improve our methods of contacting voters, and organize policy monitoring and criticism - so that the people's voices not only resonate locally, but are also affirmed in the national parliament and in the international arena.
According to comrade Nguyen Van Loi: "The 80-year journey of the Vietnamese National Assembly has left brilliant marks. The Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation is proud to be an active member in that glorious journey. The achievements of the past term will be valuable provisions for us to continue to walk firmly on the new journey".
The Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City informed about some of the delegation's key tasks and work in the coming time. "The tasks are still heavy, requiring us to constantly innovate, improve our capacity, be closer to the people, respect the people, listen to their opinions more, to respond to the people's expectations and be worthy of the heroic tradition of the National Assembly over the past 80 years", Comrade Nguyen Van Loi emphasized.
The Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation believes that the flame of enthusiasm and the spirit of serving the people will continue to be inherited and lit by generations of National Assembly Deputies. Each National Assembly Deputy, whether at the Central or local level, is always aware that he or she is a representative of the will and aspirations of the people, putting the interests of the Fatherland and the people above all else.
Comrade Nguyen Van Loi affirmed: The previous generation has taught us the lesson of loyalty to the country and filial piety to the people. Our generation today has the responsibility to continue writing glorious history with intelligence, action, and concrete contributions, to bring the country into a new era, so that the city named after beloved Uncle Ho can reach far in the new era.
