Tuyen Quang unanimously builds new rural areas

This shows that some communes in Tuyen Quang province such as Khuon Ha and Tho Binh have not met the new set of criteria. Specifically, Khuon Ha commune has maintained 16 criteria, the remaining 3 criteria include: multidimensional poverty, production organization, environment and food safety are not up to standard. For Tho Binh commune, the Party Committee, government and people have made every effort but have only maintained 18/19 criteria, 1 criterion has not been met which is multidimensional poverty....

However, that is only a small number. In the past time, the movement to build new rural areas in Tuyen Quang has been promoted by all levels of government and people and has achieved many positive results. In particular, Son Duong district is a bright spot.

According to the synthesis of the Office of the National Target Program on Construction Coordination of Tuyen Quang province, 18/18 communes of Son Duong district have met the standards in the period of 2016-2020 and maintained the criteria in the period of 2021-2025.

Mr. Giang Tuan Anh - Chairman of Son Duong District People's Committee said that the ultimate goal of building new rural areas is to improve the living standards of rural people, which is also to implement the criteria of income and multidimensional poverty reduction. To achieve this goal, the district continues to effectively implement the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector, focusing on developing and expanding models of linked commodity agricultural production, organizing production according to collective economic models, cooperatives, and enterprises linking production with product consumption; focusing on building brands, trademarks, geographical indications, growing area codes, trade promotion, and promotion towards exporting agricultural products; promoting mechanization in agricultural production, applying preservation technology, deep processing of products, reducing post-harvest losses, etc. to help increase the value of products and increase people's income. The district also effectively uses the career capital of the National Target Programs to implement approved projects to support the development of chain-linked production for ethnic minority households, poor households, and near-poor households to increase income from agricultural and forestry production; expand chain-linked production, develop OCOP products, support collective economy, and cooperative economy. In addition, the district encourages and creates all conditions for workers to work in industrial parks, export processing zones, and participate in labor export.

In addition, along with the efforts of the Party Committee and the authorities from the district to the commune, we must acknowledge the proactiveness and quickness of the people in developing the economy and striving to get rich. Currently, the whole Son Duong district has over 30 households participating in growing mulberry with an area of ​​nearly 15 hectares. The entire mulberry area is jointly produced and consumed by Phuong Nam Silk Joint Stock Company.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Son Duong district (Standing agency of the Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction of the district), many agricultural products of the district have formed a relatively sustainable production chain with the participation of a large number of people. By the end of 2023, 30/30 communes met the criteria on labor, production organization and rural economic development, with an average income per capita of 53.55 million VND; the poverty rate of the whole district at the end of 2023 decreased to 11.85%.
