On the afternoon of November 11, the Vietnamese team had its first training session in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ), preparing for the match against Laos in the second leg of Group F, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. Right in the first training session, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam suffered a minor thigh injury and had to leave the session. Khong Minh Gia Bao is one of two new recruits of the Vietnamese team in this training session. The focus of the Vietnam team is the return of striker Nguyen Xuan Son. After nearly a year of absence due to injury, Xuan Son is trying very hard to regain his form. He moves with fast speed and has the ability to shoot the ball with high accuracy. "I am ready to play and determined to score against Laos if coach Kim Sang Sik gives me the chance. I am 100% recovered and capable of playing a full match without fear of risk," the 28-year-old striker affirmed. Coach Kim Sang Sik observed Xuan Son very carefully. The Vietnam team had 4 training sessions in Viet Tri and left for Laos on November 15. Currently, coach Kim Sang Sik's Vietnam team is ranked 2nd in Group F with 9 points after 4 matches, while Laos is ranked 3rd with 3 points. Topping Group F is Malaysia, with 12 points.
