Striker Xuan Son believes he has recovered 100% of his physical condition to play the entire match against Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

After 11 months, striker Nguyen Xuan Son has returned to the Vietnam national team. To wear the national team shirt once again, Xuan Son has undergone a recovery process lasting nearly a year, after the injury he suffered in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final against Thailand.

"Today is a special day for me. I have been waiting for this moment for many months, since I was injured in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final between Vietnam and Thailand. It is always the same feeling. I am very proud every time I play for the Vietnamese team," Xuan Son affirmed.

In 11 months, Xuan Son went through 4 stages of recovery. He returned to training for 3 months, then had a few minutes on the field in a friendly match between Nam Dinh and PVF-CAND Youth.

"Up to now, I can play the entire match (between Vietnam and Laos). Everyone can rest assured that there is no risk or danger for me. I am confident that I can meet all the professional requirements from the coaching staff, with 100% of my current physical condition," Xuan Son confidently affirmed.

In today's training session (November 11), coach Kim Sang-sik mainly let his players do light exercises to recover their physical strength, after the players had just "plowed" in the V-League playground.

For Xuan Son personally, his return to the Vietnamese national team not only has an encouraging meaning, but also marks a special milestone.

"Coach Kim Sang-sik met me and said, 'Welcome back.' I was very happy about that. I was also touched to see familiar faces from my teammates again.

My wife, children and parents are also proud that I can contribute to the Vietnam team again. Every match and every journey is truly emotional when I get to play for Vietnam. It's hard to describe that," Xuan Son emphasized.

The striker born in 1997 confided: "I have been training with high volume and intensity since Nam Dinh. Any moment, any time, any stage or even the whole match, I am ready. I just wait for the command from coach Kim Sang Sik.

After all, I want to say: Thank you very much to everyone. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Vietnam. I want to contribute everything I can to Vietnamese football."
