Rice prices continue to fall

The current price of paddy and rice in the Mekong Delta continues to decrease by 100 - 200 VND/kg for rice. Meanwhile, the price of paddy remains stable.

In the Mekong Delta region, the price of fresh rice continued to move sideways. Accordingly, in An Giang, the price of fresh rice of all kinds purchased by traders at the field was stable. Specifically, IR 504 rice was at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice was at 9,300 - 9,500 VND/kg; OM 18 rice was at 9,200 - 9,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice was at 9,200 - 9,400 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 remained stable at 9,400 - 9,600 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuated around 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg.

In the Mekong Delta provinces, new rice trading was slow at the beginning of the week. Rice prices fell sharply, so traders and businesses stopped buying and observed the market.

In An Giang, Kien Giang, and Dong Thap provinces, although rice is arriving in large quantities, warehouses are only buying in moderation, transactions are slow, and prices are decreasing.

On the export market, Vietnamese rice export prices have stabilized and remained unchanged after a recent upward adjustment. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 25% broken rice is 612 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is 638 USD/ton; and 100% broken rice is 533 USD/ton.
