According to the announcement, for the Lunar New Year in 2026, civil servants and public employees will have 5 days off as prescribed, including 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (corresponding to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).
For the 2026 National Day holiday, civil servants and public employees will have two days off, including September 2nd, 2026 and the day before, September 1st, 2026. The City People's Committee will swap Monday, August 31st, 2026, with the regular weekend holiday, Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 (Monday, August 31st, 2026, is a day off, and work will be compensated on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026).
The City People's Committee requests that agencies and units arrange for appropriate staffing to ensure continuous work and provide good service to the people; and at the same time, proactively plan for on-call duty and handling unexpected tasks during holidays and Tet according to regulations.

Agencies, units, and businesses need to implement measures to ensure the supply and demand of goods and services, stabilize prices and markets, contribute to promoting economic growth, and practice thrift and combat waste before, during, and after the Tet holiday.
For employees outside the administrative and public service sectors, employers have the right to choose a suitable Lunar New Year and National Day holiday schedule, with at least 30 days' notice; if a weekly rest day coincides with a public holiday, employees are entitled to a compensatory day off on the next working day as stipulated in the Labor Code.
The People's Committee of the city encourages employers to adopt the same Tet holiday and other public holiday schedules as civil servants and public employees, or to reach agreements that are more beneficial to employees, contributing to ensuring their rights, social welfare, and creating a joyful atmosphere leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.
