According to the announcement, on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2026, cadres, civil servants and public employees will have 5 days off as prescribed, including 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (ie December 29, At Ty year) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (ie January 4, Binh Ngo year).
For the National Day holiday in 2026, civil servants and public employees will have 2 days off, including September 2, 2026 and the day immediately before September 1, 2026. The City People's Committee will swap the working day Monday, August 31, 2026, to the weekly day off Saturday, August 22, 2026 (off Monday, August 31, 2026 and make up for it on Saturday, August 22, 2026).
The City People's Committee requests agencies and units to arrange staff and civil servants on duty reasonably, ensuring continuous work and good service to the people; at the same time, proactively plan on duty and handle unexpected work during holidays and Tet according to regulations.

Agencies, units and enterprises need to take measures to ensure supply and demand of goods and services, stabilize prices and markets, contribute to promoting economic growth, practice thrift and combat waste before, during and after Tet and public holidays.
For employees not in the administrative or career sector, employers have the right to choose appropriate Lunar New Year and National Day holidays, with at least 30 days' notice; if the weekly day off coincides with a holiday or Tet, the employee will be given compensatory leave on the next working day according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
The City People's Committee encourages employers to apply the same Tet and holiday schedules as civil servants and public employees or negotiate in a more beneficial way for employees, contributing to ensuring rights, social security and creating an exciting atmosphere before the New Year of the Horse 2026.
