HNN.VN - Over the two days of December 11-12, Hue city mobilized forces and resources to organize patrols, inspections, and controls during a peak period against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; while also monitoring the national defense and security situation in the city's waters.

The delegation presented gifts to fishermen operating in the fishing grounds of Hue City.

With a core force of border guards, police, and fisheries inspectors, along with a squadron of two patrol boats, the patrol aimed to promptly detect, prevent, and handle violations of the law; foreign vessels encroaching on the sovereignty of Hue city's waters; and inspect the compliance of fishermen with regulations in marine resource exploitation, contributing to improving the effectiveness of management and firmly protecting the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands.

During the course of their duties, the patrol forces focused on comprehensively inspecting fishing activities at sea, especially compliance with regulations on combating IUU fishing; proactively detecting and handling violations.

The forces inspected several fishing vessels operating at sea; at the same time, they disseminated legal information, presented gifts and national flags to fishermen, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility among them in the process of venturing out to sea.
