Vietnam U17 women's team in easy group in Asian U17 women's qualifying round

On the afternoon of August 7, the draw ceremony for the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship qualifying round took place, determining the final 8 groups, including 3 groups of 4 teams and 5 groups of 3 teams. According to the results, the Vietnam U17 Women's Team fell into Group D with opponents Hong Kong (China) and Guam. Vietnam will also be the host country of this group.

Group A will see the Philippines, Malaysia, hosts Tajikistan and Syria compete, while Group B will see Iran, Lebanon, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, the hosts of the group.

Group C will feature Indonesia, hosts Myanmar, Mongolia and debutants Macau. Australia tops Group E, with hosts Singapore and the Northern Mariana Islands while hosts Thailand, Nepal and Turkmenistan will battle it out for a direct place in Group F.

Group G will see India, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republic (hosts) go head-to-head while Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei and Jordan (hosts) will battle it out in Group H for the top spot.

In the 2026 AFC U-17 Women's Championship qualifiers, the top eight teams from each group will advance to the finals, along with four AFC representatives from the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco who have already qualified for the finals: DPR Korea, Japan, South Korea and China.

The 2025 AFC U17 Women's Championship qualifiers will take place from October 9 to 17, 2025, while the finals will take place from April 30 to May 17, 2026.
