Vietnam U17 is the host of Group I of the 2025 AFC U17 qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho Province. According to the schedule, Vietnam U17 will meet Kyrgyzstan U17 (October 23), Yemen U17 (October 25) and Myanmar U17 (October 27). On October 22, at the press conference before the tournament, all 4 head coaches of the teams expressed their determination to achieve the best results. Vietnam U17 head coach Cristiano Roland said: "We have had 2 training trips in China and Japan with the best conditions. The results are the solidarity and desire to compete of the whole team. This group is not easy, Vietnam U17 is motivated to bring the best performance to the fans. The support of the home audience will help the young players have more spirit to achieve the desired results".

Vietnam U17's opponent in the opening match is Kyrgyzstan U17. Before the match, coach Igor Nikitin shared: "We appreciate Vietnam U17's preparation before the tournament, especially the victories in the friendly tournament in China. Vietnam U17 has the advantage of being the host. But at this young age, the results of the matches will be very difficult to predict because of many influencing factors, especially psychology. Kyrgyzstan U17 respects all opponents in the group, and will try their best to achieve good results."

As for the team rated highest in the U17 group, Yemen coach Mohamed Fadhl affirmed that the team's goal is to win a ticket to the U17 Asian finals for the first time. Yemen U17 has had a long preparation with 2 training trips and friendly matches in Jordan and Oman before the tournament. As for Myanmar U17, coach Aung Zaw Myo said that since the defeat at the U16 Southeast Asian Championship, his team has made many changes in terms of lineup, tactics and is aiming to win a ticket to the finals.
The 2025 AFC U17 Championship qualifiers will feature 43 teams, divided into 10 groups, including 7 groups of 4 teams and 3 groups of 5 teams. The 10 group winners and the 5 best runners-up will join host Saudi Arabia in the finals.
