Czech U18 calls up overseas Vietnamese players to play friendly football matches

Andrej Nguyen is playing for the Olomouc U19 team. This season, Andrej Nguyen scored 5 goals in 18 appearances in the Czech U19 national tournament.

Because of that impressive achievement, the Vietnamese-American midfielder was called up to the Czech U18 team.

Andrej Nguyen was born in 2005 in Trinec (Czech Republic), in a family with a father from Do Luong (Nghe An) and a mother from Hanoi .

Andrej Nguyen inherited his passion for football from his father Nguyen Duc Hy and started training at Trinec's training center at the age of 13.

Two years later, the player caught the eye of experts at Sigma Olomuc's academy. Andrej Nguyen then transferred to Sigma Olomuc's academy and was promoted there.

Andrej Nguyen plays as a central midfielder and attacking midfielder, possessing the typical qualities of a Nghe An player: enthusiasm and strength.

Andrej Nguyen's father knows his son's dream is to play for the Czech national team. However, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hy also confided that he would be very proud if in the future, Andrej Nguyen wore the shirt of the Vietnamese national team.

There are many Vietnamese players playing professionally in the Czech Republic, the most famous of which is Filip Nguyen, goalkeeper of Slovacko Club.

Filip Nguyen has affirmed his talent in the Czech Republic when he was called up to the national team of this country in September 2020. However, he has not played a single match for the Czech team.

The goalkeeper himself, born on September 14, 1992, also wants to return to Vietnam to play football, bring his wife and children back to settle down long-term and apply for Vietnamese citizenship, paving the way for him to play for the Vietnamese national team.
