(GLO)- On the afternoon of April 17, U19 Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) had the final match in the qualifying round of Group C of the 2023 National U19 Tournament with U19 Lam Dong .
U19 HAGL finished the qualifying round undefeated
Before this round, the young team Pho Nui was sure to win the top spot in the group while their opponent had to compete to hope to take the second place from U19 Khanh Hoa .
With a relaxed mentality after securing a place in the final round, U19 HAGL played quite freely, not hesitating to attack to contribute to a match with many goals. The home team's goal was soon achieved in the 18th minute with a powerful header from Tien Nam.
After conceding the goal, U19 Lam Dong rose up strongly and equalized 1-1 after a sharp combination in the 23rd minute. But that was all the away team could do in the match, they were helpless against the strong attack of U19 HAGL. In the 28th minute, in a high-up attack, center-back Quang Kiet had a decisive shot to raise the score to 2-1.

Coach Chu Ngoc Canh's students continued to have an explosive second half, not giving their opponents any chance to fight back. In the 51st minute, Tien Nam scored his second goal after a sharp counterattack to score the third goal for the home team.
In the 83rd minute, taking advantage of the opponent's defense's mistake, Hung Khang scored the 4th goal for U19 HAGL. Before the referee blew the final whistle, Tien Nam completed his hat-trick to set the score at 5-1 for the match. Thus, U19 HAGL completed the qualifying round with 9 wins and 1 draw, achieving 28/30 points.
On the afternoon of April 17, the other groups also closed and the Organizing Committee determined the 12 teams participating in the 2023 National U19 Finals, including: Viettel, Hanoi, Dong A Thanh Hoa, Song Lam Nghe An, SHB Da Nang, HAGL, Khanh Hoa, B.Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Thap, An Giang and the host team Tay Ninh. The finals will take place in Tay Ninh province from April 22 to May 4.
In the 2022 National U19 Finals, U19 HAGL stopped in the quarterfinals.
