U22 Vietnam defeated U22 China in the opening match of the 2025 Panda Cup

Despite facing many difficulties when playing away, U22 Vietnam still won against U22 China in the opening match of the 2025 Panda Cup.

On the evening of November 12, U22 Vietnam had their opening match at the Panda Cup 2025 against the host team U22 China. Despite being away, coach Dinh Hong Vinh's players still played very proactively and put pressure on their opponents right from the first minutes.

In contrast to the jubilant start of U22 Vietnam, U22 China played quite stalemately and almost could not approach Cao Van Binh's goal.

However, it was U22 China who created the first dangerous chance of the match. However, the home player's low shot was blocked by Cao Van Binh.

Near the end of the first half, U22 Vietnam regained its attacking rhythm and had a relatively favorable opportunity to score. In the 44th minute, U22 Vietnam coordinated on the left wing, Quoc Viet made a pass for Thanh Nhan to finish near the corner but the U22 China goalkeeper dived to save the goal.

After the break, U22 Vietnam was the team that controlled the match better. However, the U22 Vietnam players still had many difficulties in approaching the opponent's penalty area.

Meanwhile, U22 China also had trouble against U22 Vietnam's high pressing style. In the 70th minute, Behram Abduweli broke free and fired a powerful shot that went wide of the post.

When many people started to think about a goalless draw, the unexpected happened. In the 80th minute, Le Van Thuan tried to pass the ball into the penalty area and caused a mistake from the U22 China defender. Seeing the opportunity, Pham Minh Phuc rushed in and finished close to the goal, opening the score for U22 Vietnam.

In the remaining time, the home team tried their best to attack but could not find an equalizer and accepted a 0-1 defeat against U22 Vietnam.
