Culture must be on par with economics and politics.
In the atmosphere leading up to the 14th National Party Congress, artists in the province have high expectations for promoting the "soft power" of culture.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Viet Trung, member of the Thai Nguyen Province Literature and Arts Association, affirmed: The country's endogenous strength originates from its people. Literature and arts have a profound impact in nurturing the soul, perfecting personality, forming Vietnamese people of the new era, who are both scientifically knowledgeable, patriotic and full of humanity.

However, there is still a big gap between expectations and reality. Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Viet Trung also admitted a paradox: We put a lot of hope in the young generation of artists, but in reality in Thai Nguyen, many young authors with good works cannot "live off their profession". They need specific policies to feel secure in unleashing their creativity.
Folk music, the balance between preservation and reality
Traditional music is facing the challenge of balancing preservation and practicality. Many younger generations, especially those from ethnic minorities, are proud of their ancestors’ heritage, but at the same time face concerns about their future careers.
Master Tran Quang Hung, Executive Vice Principal of Viet Bac College of Culture and Arts, shared: We strive to preserve and promote traditional cultural and artistic values for the people of the Northern mountainous region. However, the field of folk music has not been accepted by the market. It is very difficult for graduates to find jobs in their field of expertise, causing a great waste of human resources and culture.

According to preliminary statistics, more than 50% of students graduating from the traditional music major have to do other jobs to maintain their passion. Mr. Hung suggested: The Congress documents need to have a special mechanism for investment in traditional music, not only supporting training but also ensuring output for students, along with preferential policies for units using labor in this field.
Institutionalization - the key to fanning the flames of creativity
From an insider's perspective, artist Duong Van Chung, Head of the Fine Arts Association (Thai Nguyen Province Literature and Arts Association), stated: Documents at previous congresses have had many correct policies on cultural development, but actual implementation still has gaps. Artists have not yet received the attention commensurate with their contributions.

Mr. Chung further analyzed: The biggest bottleneck is the lack of a professional art market and a system of standard exhibition spaces. Thai Nguyen has many talented artists, but their works do not have many opportunities to reach the public. We recommend having a mechanism to buy and preserve award-winning artworks, building professional exhibition houses, contributing to creating a healthy aesthetic environment in the community.
In the context of limited resources, promoting socialization and connecting businesses with artists is an important solution. A typical example is writer Ho Thuy Giang, author of four historical novels about Thai Nguyen. Thanks to the sponsorship of a dedicated businessman, the works were printed and donated to school libraries in the province, helping to widely spread historical and cultural values to the younger generation.
From this reality, writer Ho Thuy Giang recommends: The 14th Congress documents need to emphasize two key solutions. First, there is a policy of ordering and encouraging the creation of works that exploit the depth of local culture and history. Second, institutionalize the connection mechanism of "State - enterprises - writers". When there is this companionship, valuable works will spread strongly, becoming an endogenous force for development.

Connecting tradition with modernity and sustainable development
The enthusiastic opinions from Thai Nguyen all aim at a common goal of turning the Party's guidelines into specific and feasible mechanisms and policies. Literature and art need to be invested in commensurate with their role as the spiritual foundation of society, becoming an endogenous driving force, contributing to the formation of sustainable spiritual values for the community and promoting socio-economic development.
Institutionalizing the Party's guidelines into specific and practical policies is a key factor in unleashing the endogenous strength of culture, creating favorable conditions for artists, writers and musicians to promote their creative capacity.
At that time, traditional values that are preserved and developed will be closely linked with contemporary life, becoming a driving force for society to move forward, contributing to realizing the strategic, cultural and development goals set out at the 14th Congress.
